I'd flip them Framber to get Horton back, and they could take Pressly's contract to offset some of Bellinger's deal.

Trade Tucker to the Twins for Correa and some good prospects and play Correa at third after Bregman walks...

Christian walker is such an obvious fit.
It’s going to be a shame watching him go to the yanks.

Brown doesn't strike me as a guy willing to give up the draft pick to get him.

I'm not sure it was really a horrible matchup. Obviously facing Skubal wasn't ideal, but he gets to pitch 1 out of 3 games, vs 2 out of 5 in an ALDS so not awful. The rest the Tigers team is a string of no-name players. Their hitting was worse and their pitching was worse - they didn't even have a credible #2 starting pitcher and had to do a bullpen game in game #2. The Astros lost because their ace had an awful game (which is becoming a concerning trend in the majority of his postseasons) and then because the bullpen imploded as it had during the early part of the season along with the lack of the hitting. The team was a decent but not great 14-11 in September so it's more like they had a hot stretch in the middle of the season than anything else - the team at the end of the year looked a lot like the team at the start.

Considering the wages for pre-arb players... I would just load up on them now...

There are really only 2 big free agents left: Burnes and Bregman. There’s a handful of other guys who may get good money, but none of them project as true stars. There’s probably 5-6 teams out there who have the cash to easily pay Breggy $230M+. At this point I will be utterly shocked if Bregman signs with Houston. Sox, Yankees, Mets, Phillies, Blue Jays, Dodgers, and Tigers all make sense.

I'm happy I lived through the Astros' Golden Era. We had our own Murderers' Row. It was a great time.

Unfortunately, the types of things we do these days mirrors the strategies of the Red, Pirates, Brewers And teams like that. We are not doing anything particularly groundbreaking. Don't have enough money to do it the Mets or Dodgers way. Just going to troll along here fighting over scraps with the Reds

This depends on how much you believe in the pitching. I'm a believer, as long as they've got pitching they're going to be contenders. Last years lineup was a AAAA lineup outside of the top 5. Even trading Tucker and letting Bregs walk I think the team will be fine as long as Crane/Dana add talent and if they make a mistake on a young guy they're willing to make moves at the deadline to make the lineup as good as it was last year, or even better. Remember that Tucker sucked in the playoffs and if the pitching can get the team to the playoffs I will take my chances with the tp 5 and 4 young guys being as good as last years bottom of the lineup. Being honest if the Stros can make the playoffs they wont miss Tucker and will probably be better off with the new guys.

Tell me that he's truly healthy, not just what's been put out there in the press.

I'm not the guy that knows much about prospects, but I hope Hoerner is part of the deal then add 2-3 of the prospects Snake listed.

Add Hoerner/Shaw/Bellinger and then trade for Correa out of the current Stos prospects and with the Stros pitching I think they can be a contender next season.

Not saying I want him but no Astros? What was the purpose of his agent talking to them then? To tell Brown no? Or was his agent talking to all teams interested and Arenado then gave him a list?

I know the draft pick positioning will be different but if you lose Bregman, don't you get a pick? So wouldn't the draft pick lost by signing Walker cancel each other out?
