Reed Sheppard is the Rockets’ Franchise Player™

Reed's getting worse as the season goes along. Before he would just be passive to the point of having zero impact. Now he's starting to hesitate which makes him a negative on the floor. If he continues along this path then the G league would be the best place for him.

 

Watching a rebuild is the most frustrating thing.....got to be.

I don't know about y'all but I'm ready to see Reed Sheppard blow that career high of 12 points out of the water. Need to see a 20+ point game out of him soon.

 

He should be playing 20 minutes per game.

No. He obviously hasn't earned minimum and this team wants to be in the playoffs. He needs to be in the game league

 

Aren't you the guy who always says players shouldn't be handed playing time? That they have to earn it? Reed hasn't earned much of anything so far.

Sheppard's biggest problem is that he's played precious few games against college or higher talent. Send him to the Vipers and let him run the team 30 minutes a night for 15-20 games and he'll come back more skilled and more confident.

 

Spot on. He's not helping this team. Obviously we don't see practice but this team sorely lacks shooting and that's what he was drafted on. He can't see the court and is wasting away on the nench. Send him to the g league for the rest of the season. No point in him waving a towel.

DD is a hypocrite. Never is consistent.

 

G league for 30 minutes a night for the next 2 months at least

 

And force him to take at least 20 shots per game. His development on the Rockets will always suffer due to Mr. 40-min-40-mil-2-of-12.

 

G-league isn't a demotion. It's a pathway for development.

 

You are conflating starting job with minutes, development minutes are important for assets, but starting jobs should be earned.

But, I agree with sending him to the Vipers.

I would be fine with him getting some burn in the G League. He needs to learn to impose himself more on the game. Be assertive.

We should play this guy even if we lose a few spots in the standings.

The goal should be to be better come playoff time.

Worst case scenario we need to see what we have with him. But give him the fair shot of a long look.
