I think his focus and commitment to defense this season has led to dip in offence. He is clearly not the offensive player he was last year, though I think he will eventually adjust and regain his offensive touch. Along with his newly added defensive abilities, if he can prove to be a reliable go to scorer, this guy can be a legit super star and corner stone for the franchise.
I laughed too hard at this lol... am I racist now? This is Ime/Fred's team. Fred is the only one with a max, only one allowed to play his way through struggles. For better or worse, but that's how it is.
Serious question have you watched the lakers this year? The entire team has a defensive effort problem. Everyone just walks around, they watch teams get layups, nobody tries to rotate or even seems to care. Obviously Anthony Davis is a "good" defender when he tries to play defense. But his defensive impact this year has been poor. The team defense is horrible and Davis is a big part of the problem. He really just doesn't seem to give a ****. I don't think the stat is getting it wrong.
Very little, almost any game i watch outside of the rockets is gonna be Jokic. Davis has been much worse on defense then usual b/c he has 4 guys around him who play zero defense and he's sick of it. He's not close to the all defense guy he was previously no doubt. Even this version of davis though will have more value on defense than almost any guard, outside of the very best. The main reason the stat is worthless though is how little it thinks of Jokic, and him i have watched plenty this season.
Sengun has looked like he is fatigued the last couple of games, hes had a good season so far otherwise. He has always had conditioning issues, hopefully he resolves this at some point.
Unless it it is the 4th quarter and we need a bucket. Seems to be Alperen’s team when it is close. Team leading 5.6 ppg in the 4th, with double teams. Call me when Fred sees a double.
Haha Ime just said in the postgame when asked about Alpi: "My biggest thing with Alpi is: Get the European out of the game. Play through it. Stop crying." Well. I agree. That said, he does get hacked a lot, and it doesn't get called enough.
Sardunyaya was hating on Jalen for years and now switchin up because he knows that Franchise Jalen is here and if he keeps hating on him he will not get those delicious likes and retweets anymore. STAY ON THAT SIDE HOE
Amen said he has great chemistry with Alpi on and off the court, loves his gravity where he always has two guys on him because it makes it easy for him.
He’s right to recognize that Alpi is and will be a really good player but will not be generational, not with his abysmal shooting touch. Yes he will occasionally make the nice circus shot, but on the whole has proven to be someone who shoots layups with the percentage most NBA players shoot 15 footers and shoots 10-15 footers like most NBA players shoot 25 footers. Look no further than the last bank shot he took tonight from about 8 feet that wasn’t even close. Some guys (like, say, Rodman and Ben Wallace)just don’t have it in their DNA.
Ime’s offense is dogshit. I think Ime is great and is the guy to take us all the way, but once we get a real offensive vision, Alpi will flourish like never before. The sooner that happens the easier this will all be and the faster we’re a contender.
I don't think people get it and it's very disappointing. Sengun is extremely unselfish. He doesn't care about taking 20 shots a game. He wants to win and plays accordingly. If he feels the team doesn't need him to score, he won't force the play and will instead feed others. He knows he can always post up, take a flamingo, and nobody will criticize him if he misses, but he doesn't do that. He can read the game and adjusts his play for it. He took only 9 shots today because he wanted to get Jalen, Jabari, and Amen involved. If he wanted to score 25 points, after getting the ball in the high post he would've attacked the rim. That's why i don't understand why people criticize Ime for Sengun's own preferences. He is just smart and unselfish.
I honestly haven’t been thrilled with Alperen this year. For me, this is his basement level of play. It can’t get any worse, which is still pretty damn good. Still, a bit annoyed with him overall. He is much better than this. Guy is living in his own head.
