Okay, I think it is time for Reed to spend some time in the G-league. He needs reps getting his shot off against some kind of legit resistance.

 

Hard to say with Cam, but he'd be more decisive on offense atleast, which is where we struggle the most. Reed botching the 3v1 fast break like that was a terrible look. Ime was visibly frustrated at that. Reed's definitely in his own head at this point. Looks like he's playing not to lose instead of playing to win. G-League run will do him wonders.

 

The Rockets are very dependent on FVV handling the ball and running the offense. If he missed 8-10 games, they would figure things out and do better in half court offense than most people here believe.

It would definitely cost them some games, but Amen's development would accelerate.

 

Remember when in the Press Conference for Reed Sheppard getting drafted I think it was Johnathan Feigen saying Will Reed Sheppard go to the G League.

Reed looked a little put off by that question. He obviously wants to stay on the Rockets instead of being sent down. It might look bad, Saying the #3 Pick got sent down, he is a bust etc. Media is cruel, and creates Fake News.

 

I do agree with these points.

 

Jalen is the player of the game. He looked confident. We need consistency from him.

 

Just not step backs. He’s awful at them but still does them 3 times a game idk if he has made a step back 3 all year.

 

Kendrick Perkins must've liked what he saw and called in a few favors for Jalen

 

Concussion. His mom said it was friendly fire from Jabari on a play late in the Kings game

 

I’d be fine if he removed the step-back from his game entirely until he refines it. I don’t know what the stats show but I never expect it to go in

 

Finally a game where Amen could somewhat run things and he didn't disappoint. His game is really starting to come together.

Jalen had a good Jalen game.

Jaesean filled in nicely for Tari.

Sengun largely a decoy today. Dillon shot too much. Jabari is looking really good on both sides of the ball. Feel like he looks better when FVV isn't dribbling the air out of the ball.

Reed looks like a PG rookie trying to not make mistakes. Ime will keep running him out there in these spot minutes until he figures it out.

Adams sucks.

A few observations from the game:

1). If Bari can rebound at an elite level (like I know he can), shoot efficiently, and play great D, I want him on the team long-term. The rebounding and shooting have been inconsistent, but nice to see that changing. Bari played well tonight.

2). Im glad Jalen’s shot was going and we really needed his scoring tonight. But still way too many ill -advised shots, too many turnovers. He just not a high IQ player. Still, it was nice to see Jalen step up when we really needed him with Fred out.

3). Amen is going to be the engine of this team for years to come. Great seeing his mid-range jumper and corner 3 coming along. He’s making real progress with the shooting; im super proud of Amen.

4). Reed is going through some shooting struggles, but for a supposed high IQ player, I don’t understand why he won’t move without the ball. He just stands there when the ball isn’t in his hands. He will get better looks if he’s moving without the ball. Someone needs to tell him to move.

5). KPJ still putting up empty stats with the great first step and that good jumper. But still a ball stopper playing for himself. Boggles my mind Stone tried to build around that guy. Appears incapable of playing team ball.

 

Jalen picked a good night to have one of his occasional good games.

James Harden is more valuable to the Clippers than FVV should be to us, so this was a game we were supposed to win. Was kind of a disjointed affair but business was taken care of.
