amen to that. Just driving to get to 610 is literally mad max fury road. People can not drive whatsoever in this country
bro right? It’s gotten to a point where I’d rather just take a train or go back to the olden days and ride a horse!! It’s that bad. No transit systems in Alief so I’m stuck. I’d ride a horse Django/clint Eastwood style in a heartbeat!
Another huge U.S. problem is these old rail road bridges that trucks keep slamming into. It's a U.S. epidemic. 20,000 Bridge hits a year. The bridges are treated like god damn gods and the DOT seems utterly baffled at how to destroy them to save lives.
Bus Route #2 [East - West on Bellaire] that goes to the Medical Center doesn't count as part of a transit system?
Westpark Toll Road - Alief Clodine _________________ Bellaire _________________ Beechnut _________________ Bissonnet _________________ West Bellfort _________________ Will use the above as the major East - West streets - roads for Alief. Maybe Alief ends before West Bellfort and maybe it doesn't. Going South of West Bellfort is starting to get near the Meadows. They would have to do some expensive tricky stuff to run a rail system in - along one of the streets above. I don't think that a rail system is coming to Alief any time soon.
I learned that at an early age riding with dad, 290 maybe somewhere around Giddings: sign over the highway about a mile out said "if you hit this you'll hit the bridge"
They also have 5 car trains, where you drive on to the train and it takes you though windy mountain passes where roads can't go.
Great for the drivers yes, but also great way to protect the road workers from direct sunlight and intense heat.
