Many forgot that during the last Trump
Presidency farmers, especially small family farms, were hurt by Trump’s tariffs. For all the complaints about the unevenness of the economy under Biden the Trump policies led to greater wealth disparity than under Obama.

Yep. Whether you like or dislike the ACA depends on which state you live in.

I would mark the one in the right in a lineup.

They both have the same hooked nose.

Health insurance if broken down in laymen terms to the common American is basically "there is a giant pot of money a collective group of people put in on a continual basis that will cover the cost of expensive treatments when needed. This works assuming not everyone who contributes to the pot needs expensive treatments or at least not all at the same time."

If you explain that is essentially what health insurance is, then that will make the common American then question "why is there a profit motive for a entity that just disturbed risk?"

One of the oldest talking points against public health insurance is "no profit motive stifles innovation". What innovation are insurance companies exactly providing to humanity?

Why can't this risk distribution money collection system just be ran by some government employees who are educated and trained actuaries and doctors with 200k salaries with zero profit motive?

Why do we need a profit motive for a middle man?

Just to show how replaceable CEOs are and their position being a product of networking and charisma more than anything else is just a yourself what two professions and educational paths you would think of when you think of someone operating a health insurance company? I would assume some combination of actuary sciences and medicine. Brian Thompson has a business admin bachelors. That's it. And no the high school level math in a business admin curriculum does not touch the how much more involved math is in actuary sciences.

These people get positions not based on what most would consider sincere "merit".

Just heard on the local news that Ucare another Minnesota based health insurer has closed its offices and having employees work from home this week in response to threats made to its offices.

Sounds exactly like the 1990s Republican plan it always was!

I get a chuckle at the out of touch people that are labeling all of the people on social media and around the USA that have expressed little sympathy that the CEO of United Healthcare was assassinated as "leftists"
    or "Democrats".

this is pretty hypocritical coming from you dude.

you mocked paul pelosi for almost being murdered in his own home and accused him of being gay.

maybe you should sit this one out.

It's disgusting....Leftists are bafflingly depraved and sanctimonious at the same time. I hate insurance as much as anybody else, but never to the point of murder and widowing a woman over it.

i too am disturbed by all the callous jokes about the murder, but dont you think its hypocritical of ATW to be going on like he is when he mocked paul pelosi after almost being murdered in his own home accused him of being gay.

right-wingers, trump and trumps children also made fun of pelosi. did you find that disgusting and depraved too?

LOL You keep believing that.... it has very little to do with "leftists"....... and the REAL story is that the overwhelming number of Americans that have little sympathy for the CEO of United Healthcare dying because they have no trust in the government, in large corporations, businesses or the healthcare system.... to the point that they are at best indifferent to a CEO being assassinated.

You keep buying into this being some sort of "leftists" cabal though.

Not sure why there is this assumption or accusation that it is liberals or leftists who are celebrating the murder. Maybe in the pre-MAGA days, that'd be a safer assumption. But nowadays Trump has taken more share of that anti-establishment, rage against the machine and solve your problems with violence contingent. So I'm actually really unsure what the political leanings of murder celebrants are in this case. I'm hoping somebody will do a scientific poll on that question.
