Hel even Jalen Suggs would be an improvement .... Yeah, I get why they took the swing with Green, you have to have stars in this league - they had (have?) none.
Yeah, Suggs is not that much worse than Jalen offensively when you factor in his passing, and he is light years ahead on defense. Jalen Johnson is also looking like a really good player at this point. Hell, even Cam Thomas is outplaying Jalen at this point, though he probably wouldn't mesh as well with the team.
Whoever on the team has a rich gold digger baby mama, that’s the head honcho & calls the shots. no hope for the rest of the guys, they would rather date a mannequin at the store or online video game pimpin. @Snow Villiers
And throw it in your face all over social media. Dude has 1 good game out of 6 and you can be sure the usual suspects will be there with the "Jalen Green Apology Form" or "Make your apology as loud as your disrespect!" nonsense. Particularly with the popular twitter accounts, being Jalen boosters gets them good access.
If he breaks out, there's no chance the Jalen fans don't gloat. But that's okay. I can ignore them and just enjoy the Rockets.
We're stuck with him until the offseason. We can't move him at the deadline, and We can't bring someone to replace him as it will tank his value even more, and We would lose more assets. So unless Cam suddenly remembers how he played last year and starts building on that, We're riding out the season on the JG rollercoaster. The team is good enough to keep winning in spite of his play, and he will occasionally catch fire and keep the bait alive. I don't think anybody in the org will take that bait again, so I think he's gone in the summer, hopefully for an established upgrade at the 2. I really thought he would turn out to be the best player from that class, and right now he's playing like a 20-ish pick. Way too inconsistent to be a realiable starting guard on a good team. Maybe he can be a star someday if he matures, but I just don't see it happening on this team. Moving him in the summer should be at the top of our to-do list.
I keep hearing that we will just move on with him in the offseason like it's going to be easy peasy. What do yall really expect the trade to look like? I'm thinking it's going to be a major hit to our draft and young asset capital to get his $100M contract off our books. He's rly regressed offensively this season to this point, so what GM in their right minds would happily take that gamble without additional meaningful compensation? Happy to be wrong.
Im thinking he would mostly be a salary match. He'll have some value just because hes young, has shown some high level flashes and is on a less than max contract, but i expect if hes dealt for like Lavine for example youre not giving up a whole lot of assets along with Green. Yeah, youd have to send something else with him but not the whole farm.
I don't think it will be that hard to move him there are teams who, like the Rockets lack a star offensive player and one of them will bite on the potential that he eventually learns to shoot the damn ball. Teams in small markets that generally find it hard to attract and or keep stars could be landing spots. Most of them are bad teams who could afford to give him further time to develop .... Washington? Utah Toronto Detroit Charlotte Indiana Portland Chicago Could add some others to that list if their current stars get sick of the losing and Green becomes part of a bigger deal. Milwaukee Minnesota If Butler leaves Miami, I could see them take a swing too - they don't have much in terms of draft picks ....
They are small market teams, but they aren't dumb. They know that JG is a doodoo. You'd have to sweeten the deal with some picks. That's how you'd theoretically move him. JG is a net negative asset.
Yeah that's probably right but Lavine is a much better player and has one less year on his deal, though at a higher cap %. Idk if the sweeteners would be that light. I'm thinking like a Jordan Poole trade would be something where the Rockets wouldn't really need to give up assets and be able to get off that third year of his extension where his deal gets more difficult for managing the roster. This all assumes he continues the same way this season.
Jalen Green was a Game Time Decision for 2 weeks because of the Flu he has gotten at Chicago and Milwaukee Cold Weather. Jalen Green is playing through this and doesn't want to miss games. Jalen is showing toughness going through a tough time. He missed practice before facing the Wolves. Jalen Green really needs to recover and be fully healthy, he was breathing quite heavy. I think the Coaching Staff was being careful. Jalen had a runny nose, coughing, had congestion. Now that he has recovered from that he gets a scratched Cornea from Jae Crowder. Jalen Green going up for the Dunk, a obvious Flagrant Foul wasn't called on Jae Crowder.
Jordan Poole? No ****ing way. I’d rather just cut Jalen and eat his salary than bring a player like Jordan Poole anywhere near this team.
