I agree with this. It's called a teachable moment. The only question is if Cam is smart enough to learn from it.
Dog he has literally coached as a head coach for three seasons in total in this league (1 with Boston and 2 with Houston). Can you relax with your clown takes for just a little bit?
Are you an idiot? Ime is an average coach on developing young talents. He has nothing impressive here. His 3 years as HC does not conflict with he is average on developing young talents now.
Cam bricks 2 shots in a row and is immediately put in Ime's doghouse, can't even get minutes in garbage time now. Jalen has been bricking his entire career 4 years straight but isn't held accountable, at most just gets benched in crunch time. Team politics and different standards held for different players. Jalen given a pass just because he's a lotto pick and somehow Cam has to play like a superstar to even get minutes.
Whitmore has had shooting issues that stretch back into last year. Green is currently a better passer and defender. Im all for carving Cam out 20 min a hope that he gets comfortable. Take a few from Green/Brooks/FVV I guess.
So much exaggeration. If he could just play like a competent role player he would get minutes. Reed isn’t really lightning the world on fire and is a rookie. But at least he tries on defense and plays team ball so he gets to play.
The only village idiot here is you. How tf would you know if he is good at developing talent off three years of coaching experience? Dude made the nba finals his first year. Give us solid evidence that he can’t develop talent. We have the number 2 defense in the league and all of our players have improved dramatically in defensive net ratings.
To be fair, making the Finals with a stacked team does prove the opposite of developing exremely young talents. He was good at using the existing veteran talents that he had and their strengths......extremely well. It also stood out to me that Udoka is really great at expediting and speeding things up......but developing talents take at least 5 years......things that he skips can bite your arse later.
One issue with Cam in the G Leagie is that he is too good to be there and will ball out like the second coming of Kawai. The problem with that is the role he would play on the Rockets main roster isn't (yet) prime Kawai so he is not necessarily getting better at the things the Rockets are looking for. That said, if he could hit 37% from 3 or better he would be getting 20+ minutes a night with the main squad immediately.
The beauty of this is if Amen gets in foul trouble he can switch jerseys with his brother and keep playing.
