I said the same thing. It's was evident last night, he was bouncing off people as they were driving to the basket. He needs to get stronger, add another 10-15 lb of muscle. He just may have the KD body type
You people are obsessed with making Jalen the scapegoat for everything. Head case? This proves my point all along
I don't think he's a head case, but does seem to struggle with assertiveness as a general personality trait that physically impacts his game. It's like that kid in school that every year starts the year off bombing tests left, and right and every year has to climb out of a hole towards the end of the school year to pass. You just wonder where the heck that kid has been all year, and what took them so long to get their butt in gear. I have no doubt that Jalen will once again turn it around in the 2nd half of the season. But the team really needs him in the role they are putting him in to be asserting himself THE ENTIRE SEASON. Right now he's just sort of lolly gagging and throwing up dumb shots instead of really putting his head down and ASSERTING HIS GAME on the game at hand. He's not James Harden or Steph Curry who can just feel out the game and isolate any player. He has to put his head down, and rely on aggression and using his athleticism to get to the basket. Very frustrating player, and not sure if he was a good bet to extend. However I am confident that he'll be better as the season goes on, and he ONCE AGAIN realizes he needs to be assertive, and not continue to play like he's a Steph Curry type of guard who can just feel out games.
Does OP even know what head case means? Inconsistent. Weak. Even bust. All fair. But head case he’s not.
I swear damn every time their was a chance to regain the lead it was him with the ball bricking the shot or turning it over. In the 3rd quarter, we cut the deficit to one and he chucked up a well defended 3 and wasn't even close. Warriors then went back and went on a run. In the 4th, we had a big chance and he jumped in the air and threw it into the crowd. He absolutely stinks.
Agreed.... We know who Jalen Green is at this point, and as flawed as he is it really is an indictment on other player in the future if they do not develop more offensive skills to not have to rely on Jalen's unreliability on the nightly basis. Amen, Tari, and Sengun are likely to be much better players than Jalen will be, and probably already are impacting winning more. But offensively those 3 guys in particular have the most upside to make Jalen's role be a supporting one rather than a needed feature at the end of games. Right now there is ALOT of FVV and Jalen isolation/bad shots in this offense, and that's a problem. I'm sure Ime knows it and hates that it's the best he can draw up at the end of games. Defense is where we are winning games for sure. In a better offense where our best prospects take that leap offensively here in the future, you'll see much less of a need to rely on Jalen Green to be Steph Curry and create offense out of nowhere. I'm looking forward to seeing some growth from those other 3 guys this year, and if we see them start to flourish more offensively I think we'll see a much more efficient looking Jalen Green as well. It's not really his fault right now that the offense has so few options late in games.
not sure how he’s a “head case”…people are just making up new definitions for words these days I guess I think he’s a pretty good teammate…he’s just not good on the actual court
They're busy putting the finishing touches on 'Chapter 18: We told you so' - due out first week of January - when Jalen has his next good game.
The odds do not look good for a Jalen Green to emerge as one of the top 10 players from his draft class. Which is typical from any draft class. But one thing is true, Jalen has improved. He used last year to improve his team defense, he might not be an individual all team defensive player, but he plays within the defensive scheme. Same with Alpi, he is playing within the defensive scheme. I like that Jalen Green is driving the ball to the basket. He needs to do that instead of solely relying on shooting 3’s. He isn’t going to be a sharp shooter, so if he gets comfortable driving the ball to the basket good things will happen. He’s blowing layups, but at least he’s willing to drive it to the basket. I anticipate his finishing will improve. And by the end of this year the Rockets will know if he has a career with hitch their future to.
any player with jalen's level of sheer talent (95th percentile) combined with his level of athleticism (95th percentile) that fails ..... is a head case
Head case? Listen, I'm beyond ready to get rid of him. Or at least move him to a more fitting role of 6th man. The kind of 6th man who you yank if he doesn't seem to have it that night. But head case? What has he done that has indicated that? He's been in no trouble that I'm aware of. He's not even shown a bad attitude on the court. He's just the worst kind of streaky - the kind that has 4-8 bad games for every spectacular game he has. He's not a star. He's not going to be a star. And it's beyond time that we move off from him. It saddens me that he's now a poison pill and it is unlikely to see him moved before the offseason. It was absolutely killing me last night that they left him in for the entire 4th quarter. I think we would have stood a chance with Amen out there in his place. Hell, even give Cam a shot at those minutes. As bad as Jalen was playing, how could it have possibly hurt us?
Who would have predicted that KJ would have a higher career 3p%, 2p%, eFG%, TS% and a greater win share than Jalen.
At this point they can dump it to even me? At least I'd have the common sense to immediately dump it to someone better than me.
It’s wild how yall get so focused on one guys bad game. As if everyone else, including Alpi didn’t miss a ton of gimmes and allow Kumings and Wiggins to kill us. It’s almost as if you don’t watch the game. You just watch the player you hate the most and cheer inside anytime he has a bad play.
