I had the sound off during the play where Allen scored on that lateral. I was on the phone and almost dropped it when he scored.
Side note, that shouldn’t count as a touchdown catch. It should count as exactly what it is. A pass, catch by the WR for 4 yards, and then a lateral (run) for a touchdown. Idk why they **** up the stats like that.
They weren't thinking of fantasy football when they established that rule. Harder to also comprehend how a play can be both a pass and a run play simultaneously. Allen also doesn't get credit for a reception (correctly).
Im not even saying for fantasy football. I’m just saying in general it’s stupid. It’s a pass that turns into a lateral, doesn’t seem that confusing to me. He passed it for 4 yards and it was lateraled, at that point it becomes a run for another 4 yards.
Would need to be a "yards after lateral" stat that is in line with the "yards after catch" that WR's get. Those yards count as "receiving" yards though, even though it could be a 1 yard slant and the receiver "runs" for 99 more. Rushing yards are counted solely from the line of scrimmage (and a runner doesn't get more yards when its a backward toss/lateral from the line of scrimmage, and their run really starts 7 yards behind). Not saying its right, just saying what the already complicated football box score innovators had to work with when they had to "fit it in" to the current structure.
If a wide receiver catches a 20 yard pass then laterals to another receiver who runs 40 yards, how is that counted? I feel like it used to just count as a 60 yard catch for the receiver who got the lateral, maybe I’m wrong. What I’m saying is ridiculous is for Allen to have 0 catches for 7 yards. That’s asinine.
Really hoping for a Lions Bills Super Bowl. Of course now that I’ve said it means it won’t happen and both teams will lose heart breakers to the Eagles and Chiefs in conference finals.
Someone made a deal with the devil................I have never seen one team get EVERY single break in EVERY single game. Mahomes was running for his life, but he made it happen.......the kid is just unreal
What a crazy couple of endings with the Chiefs and the Bengals games. Mahomes and Burrows kept calm and finished strong.
