The reaction that healthcare workers have had to this murder is eye opening. It should wake some people up.

Also, it was interesting to see how quickly Anthem Blue Cross walked back its anesthesia fiasco once people started speaking out after this event.

America is at a crossroads, in many areas, and there may just need to be a (hopefully peaceful) revolution.

    link will work for everyone

The UnitedHealthcare CEO was killed. Why did some people celebrate?
In posts trending on media platforms, users mocked the executive’s death by invoking health insurance terms, saying empathy for his loss had been “denied.”

    How did the killer know:

    1) The approximate timing of Brian Thompson's arrival to the conference hotel. The killer was in no rush on his way to the site, even stopping for food/drink. You'd think he'd be in position super early if he had no idea when Thompson would arrive.

    2) That Thompson was not staying at the NY Hilton (the conference hotel)... and would be crossing the street to arrive at the conference hotel. I'll tell you that it's FAR more common for high ranking executives to stay at the same hotel as the conference... usually the low-level people attending get bumped to off-site hotels. Not the CEO. So there's something unusual here. I've also seen executives stay at non-conference hotels because they want privacy to do shady things (prostitutes, affairs). If the CEO is focused on business, then he's usually staying at the same hotel as the conference is being held at.

    3) Lesser importance... but how'd he know that Thompson would be alone when walking in. This is also a little unusual... usually executives walk over together if they are going to the same place. Rarely is the CEO by himself when traveling at a conference. The hit is made more difficult if Thompson is in a group of people.

I wouldn't overthink this: anyone with a walking commute nearby probably picks up on VIP logistics for conferences; the itinerary and hotel stuff is probably publicized on some level across multiple companies or entities across the country through the invitation and RSVP process. You could also know low-level workers or subcontractors at the regular vendors and caterers / planners for these events who casually mention some upcoming big event or personal appearance.

The word celebrate is being thrown around a lot. It is social media- some people express extreme positions.

The real question should be why did so many people across the board express little sympathy for what happened or a desire to catch the assassin.

The answer is obvious but some people in the media and with political agendas don’t want to admit it.

A sizable portion of Americans from the poorest, through the middle classes - have had it. They don’t like or trust the government - they don’t like or trust businesses and especially businesses and those that profit off misery for the masses.

There was basically no sympathy for the sub that imploded or the wealthy people on it - there is no real sympathy for the shooting of the CEO of a shitty healthy insurance company.

Yes, the conference itinerary is usually publicized on the conference website... and the Investor Relations page of United may have listed him as a speaker... but the timing of Thompson's entry into the hotel would still be unknown... and his being alone... and that he was staying offsite... usually at these major conferences, the CEO is staying onsite... and there's really no reason to leave the hotel except for maybe dinner... as all food is catered and available... and the day is usually wall-to-wall with meetings. Often times they even set up special rooms and areas for executives like Thompson to conduct interviews and meetings in the hotel.

So several things are off here... and a young guy like the killer would have absolutely no knowledge of any of these details and conference norms, because we are talking about the highest levels of business here -- something a young kid would have no insight into. So I have to imagine he had significant help from someone. Impossible otherwise.

Yeah it's pretty fishy and makes me think it has something to do with the court case and insider trading.
