NCAA PLAYER OF THE YEAR - 1st pick

    How often is the #draft pick the NCAA Player fo the year.

    I remember Laetner won it but Shaq was #1.
    Why? Was it that shaq had more upside?
    fit the Magic's need more?
    or Laetner was simply overrated.

    The point is being the NCAA PLAYER OF THE YEAR
    seems more politics than anything.

    Wasn't Laettner a Senior and Shaq just a sophomore?

    Plus, Laettner dominated more college games than did Shaq, I'd say. Remember how Laettner schooled Alonzo, too. Laettner was one hellacious college hoopster.

    Usually the NCAA Player of the Year is a graduating senior with decent grades and a pleasant demeanor. That kinda stuff goes a long way.
