Coming here to post this. I know several Clutchfans are in Northern, CA. Hope none of y'all are on the coast and if you are get to higher ground!
This means a tsunami could still hit the SF area in the next hour. Also from what I heard from survivors of both the 2004 Indian Ocean and 2011 Sendai Tsunami are that they don't hit all at once but come in multiple waves. In 2004 the first one was minor but the next two were much more devastating.
There still could be other aftershocks and from what I'm hearing is that there already were several aftershocks. This area likely won't settle down for awhile.
My guess that would be Adams. I'm sure he learned to swim as a kid, but he looks like he would not be very bouyant now.
Dude's from NZ, you know he knows how to swim. Enough to avoid the sharks and crocs and such, at least.
Haven’t seen any new reports of aftershocks but if I lived in the region would be cautious the next day or so.
I just watched the 3-part NatGeo documentary on the Indian Ocean Tsunami, so that stuff is fresh in my mind, probably makes me a little gun-shy
I haven’t seen it but was in Phuket Thailand a month after the 2004 tsunami. Seeing the damage and hearing some of the stories of those who survived was chilling.
The segments where they're talking to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (Hawaii) scientists are the best. Lots of interviews with locals and survivors are also great, but sad. It's worth the watch.
All of a sudden during class today everyone's phones went off, but we're all alive and well! Granted we're not exactly on the coast out in the bay area.
Damn, totally missed this news but it looks like it was way less severe than anticipated. This ****ing job is really cutting into my internet life.
