Man, you Reedbots won't get it until it's too late and Sheppard is on another teams bench. My main thing with any rookie is do we need that position and will they be able to play? Before the draft it was always "no" and "no" when the question came to Reed.
It's super weird you already think Sheppard is going to be a bench player. What are the chances of that happening with any 6'3 player who can shoot from 3, is unselfish, works hard, decent passer and is willing to give 100% on defense at age 20 on a rookie scale contract in a great development environment ? Has that ever even happened?
Next I see you criticize any of the other Rox players just remember you are really happy with 6 ppg and 0% from 3.
There is no explanation I can think of other than Sheppard is white. The same people trashing Jalen Green since his rookie year are singing Sheppard's praises now. You got posters saying Green cant shoot for **** the night he scored 28 but then being extremely happy about Sheppard's 0% from 3. It makes zero sense to anyone not lost in the sauce.
It's a rookie versus a player in year 4. I don't think very many folks are out on Cam at this point either.
He's a rookie. I didn't really criticize any of these guys when they were rookies. Not a single one (i was too busy hating Silas). Even Cam and Amen get more of a leash as second year players. If he's still doing this at the end of next year, we can have a discussion. He's fine right now.
Ngl for a 3rd pick Sheppard production/stat has been pretty disappointing. Didn't help folks were hyping him up
These guys don't watch games they look at stats. Knecht is a huge reason the Lakers are abysmal defensively. He's an absolute trainwreck. Knecht has a TS of 61% compared to Jalen Green who's at 53%. A stat watcher would tell you Knecht is a better player based on this. If Knecht was on this team he would get 0 minutes of playing time. If 3rd and 4th year players are getting benched for defensive lapses, what chance does one of the worst defenders in the draft have. AD looks totally checked out of that situation. Basically carrying that team on his back while Lebron films Space Jam 3 with his son.
That’s right just like everyone hates you here because you’re Filipino and not because you’re the dumbest poster here with the worst takes.
I'm really having a hard time deciding if you're trolling or legit serious. Your grammar and comprehension seem to indicate that you're not just some punk kid who has negligible basketball knowledge and/or experience but you post the same things over and over without even addressing the holes other posters are punching in your arguments. It's like a bot that's in year two of it's AI progression. If I thought you were legit serious about your complaints (which you've voiced loudly before Reed was even drafted) I'd toss my hat in the ring and maybe there could be a serious discussion, but at this point it seems to be a waste of time.
I'm going to say Reed Sheppard has played poorly. On Jalen Green, he's had numerous just as bad stretches of 200 minutes. Reed hasn't had the good and great stretches that Jalen has had. Sure, the Rockets didn't have as good a team so he played more minutes quicker than Reed. Maybe Reed ends up on the curve as Jalen Green or even worse, but I'd expect the Reed fans to start treating Reed like they treat Green if this continues. For me, Reed has to make shots efficiently just like Green needs to do to be effective player. Reed moreso than Green as his skill set is more geared towards shooting. If Reed has a great 200 minute stretch, I do not expect the Reed detractors to treat Reed positively though they are really negative based on a bad 200 minute stretch. If he never has a 200 minutes of great play, they will be right. I don't know if Reed will be good, great, bad, or horrendous going forward, but I think we are still really early in Reed's career relative to Green. If one is still positive on Green, one should not let 200 minutes of bad play by Reed affect their opinions on Reed much except if they are hypocrites.
Folks do have to realize that in any given year only about 10-15 players drafted will even have a WS greater than 30 for a career. I just went back and saw the 2014 draft. And of the top 10 guys with WS, there are 4 lottery picks, 4 second rounders, and 2 guys selected late in the 1st round 25 and 30 respectively. Y’all don’t earn brownie points for harping a a guy that even though drafted near the top of the draft is statistically more likely to fail than succeed. Fellas, love to harp on fans that see the players with rose colored glasses. But there are twice as many that basque in the cynicism of young guys. I checked and beside 2011 being an outlier where there were 18 guys with a WS over 30, most draft are right at 10 guys who have a WS of 30 or more. Ask yourself, do you gloat for finding failure for a guy who is statistically more likely to fail than succeed? If you do, perhaps you need help, and I don’t not mean to disparage anyone.
Reed hasn’t been impactful but it’s year 1. I would like to see him go dominate the g league for a bit to get his game going and bring him back. He needs minutes.
Reed is consistent. With Ime Udoka, that is key. He needs consistency out of his players. Once he begins to feel comfortable with certain sets, he'll ramp up. The last thing we need is another high highs/low lows type of player (Dalton Knecht for example) that you never know what you're going to get. In terms of consistency I think we only have 3 players of the 7 draftees that we can say that about. Sengun (#1) Amen (#2) and Reed (#3). The 4th that is sort of getting there is Jabari. I'm pretty pleased with his progress this season but he still disappears too much on offense for my liking. There are two players in the league that I feel Reed is going to model his game after. And they both played at Kentucky. Efficient, robotic and do not take shots they cannot consistently make. The other 3 are inconsistent messes that haven't shown that they are going to turn that around but at least Tari and Jalen are consistent defensively. Which ultimately keeps you on the court if your head coach is Ime. I won't even get into Cam Whitmore.
