1. FVV won us the game against OKC 72 hours ago. 2. Yes, unfortunately he is our 2nd best player right now. On a championship contender he would be 3rd or 4th. 3. Sacramento has been underwhelming from 3 and the law of averages came back to them. I didn't even think we played that bad. 4. The reffing was eh.
You missed the point where this isn’t about making the team better, it’s just about making their favorite boy shine despite what it costs winning games or developing other players be damned.
Everyone: Fred you shoot too much!!!! FvV: "And I'm going to continue to shoot whether you like it or not. What are you going to do about it. You a B, You a B, You a B!" Frustrating when his misses but I appreciate everything else.
Sengun hasn't done enough though is what everyone is saying. He isn't aggressive and last night Sabonis was just pushing him out easily (and fouling like a mfer too). Sengun is only 22 and hasn't become a Star in this league yet. We need FVV to bear some of this load until our young players continue to grow into their full potential, then he can take a backseat.
He’s the Player of the Week and already has more triple-doubles than Jokic did at his age. Plus, he hasn’t even hit his prime yet. Sengun was banged up last night and wasn’t really matched up against Sabonis much—it was mostly Jabari handling that assignment.
What? No way, FVV is taking too many shots and he's missing basically all the semi-difficult ones. This is a repeat of his final season in Toronto where he's just misunderstanding his role. This is the part where his assists should go up, this is not the season where he should be increasing his FGA and reducing his assists. His TS% is WAY down. The starting lineup is dipping in efficiency. We need him to organize this team better, dictate the good shots better, build our players confidence by giving THEM rhythm shots. If he's going to shoot such a low percentage on those shots, I would much rather Jabari/Amen/Tari/Green/Sheppard/Sengun miss those shots. We'll be fine I'm sure he'll figure it out but definitely we do not need FVV to save us with more shooting right now, that's detrimental to the team. Just let the young guys figure it out, this is a critical part of their growth. Want to see much better shooting out of Green and Sengun who allegedly spent a lot of time on their 3PT shot this summer. Need them both to finish the season around 36% I don't care how low the volume.
His last two years. His former teammates ran him off and had little to say about it other than he stood in the way of their personal development. His fit will come into question here too as others grow. Till that time comes enjoy, he plays over his level of personal talent, hard consistency every night is no from lack of effort.
I think that's the coach's job and Udoka will be better at dealing with such issues than Nurse was. He's still one of our most important players, just think he should be a bit more of a passer and less of a scorer at this stage of his career. In general Udoka can put a tighter leash on the shot quality from the back court, they are too trigger-happy.
I agree, this is Sengun's team..... Only Sengun should be taking last second shots or playing hero ball....
Let me also add when someone is hot on the team he ignores them, for example Jalen when he had the hot hand you gotta keep feeding him.
It's reasonable that he takes more shots than those guys especially Amen and Tari playing significantly less minutes per game and Amen having limited spots on the court he feels comfortable putting up a shot attempt compared to Fred. I would like to see a lot of Fred's bad shots attempts go to Green and Jabari though. Like other posters have said, If Fred is chucking bad shots with horrible efficiency I'd rather one of the young guys do it so they get actual meaningful reps. We aren't developing FVV.
