FVV + picks + 'currently picked players' I don't see a lot of teams going after Fox -- he didn't sign an extension this year and he is looking for a longer extension next year -- Fox having a good performance this season could make him have one of the highest paid contracts -- don't know if Rockets would want that either [taxes]
Rob Will for Tate, Jeff Green and a couple 2nds. I’d offer Landale or Adams but Portland already has too many centers. Get er done Stoned
Really? We have a lot of picks. I think it's an overpay personally. His own team doesn't want to pay him the big bucks for a reason. We are going to pay him and make Sac happy. Everybody wins except the Rockets.
I would prefer Brandon Ingram over Jimmy Butler...I think we can get him without trading our core players except for Jalen Green.
I'm not so sure Fox is the answer .... He's essentially Jalen as a point guard in terms of shooting, .335 for his career from distance and 51.7 eFG Jalen is the exact same .335 from 3 and 49.4 eFG. Rather than give up assets for such a sideways move that I'm not sure works with FVV, that's an awful small guard tandem, I'd probably just stick with Jalen for now - if a better option comes along .... you still have the assets. If I'm sending out the kind of assets it'll take to get Fox, I need a much clearer upgrade.
I'm wrong. I was under the impression there were contract negotiations, and that Fox was eligible for more. I just saw 165 and assumed it was for 5 years, which would be less than Jalen and Alperen. I just googled it was a 3 year.
Jalen’s problem isn’t that he shoots threes at just over 30%. It’s that he takes 9 of them a game at that percentage.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +1.6 ppg, +1.8 rpg, and +0.2 apg. Incoming Players Noah Clowney 20 year old, 6-9, 210 lb F from Alabama 7.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 16.6 minutes in 2024-2025 Outgoing Players Cam Whitmore 20 year old, 6-7, 230 lb F from Villanova 5.9 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.5 apg in 9.9 minutes in 2024-2025
So you don’t think Fox would be an upgrade? I agree that Fox and FVV is not a good fit but Fox and Green could work in my opinion.
Fox has an above average TS% since the start of the 2022-2023 season. His eFG% has not been as low as 51.7 since 2021-2022. Improvement is not a guarantee. Fox also has a ton more assists at a much higher Assist to turnover ratio. Basically, Fox would fill the Green role except likely be above average scoring efficiency and giving the Rockets another guy that can run point. Also, Fox is not likely a depreciating asset such that Fox for Player X is likely as good if not better than the assets needed to get Fox for Player X. I think a FVV, Fox, Brooks, Tari, Sengun, Amen, and JSJ would be a really good lineup in the playoffs. Granted, I don't think Fox will require as many assets as some. I think the 2 Phoenix picks, another FRP, Green, and Cam should do it. Probably can get Ellis thrown in.
This would be a home run. Fox / Green / Amen / Grant / Sengun Reed / Cam / Tari / Bari / Adams (or someone like Robert Williams)
They want Jalen gone so bad they don’t even realize he would gain a lot from playing with Fox instead of Fred considering Fred is a half court player. Also don’t understand the obsession with keeping Fred when he’s so past our timeline.
