Azeez Al-Shaair gets a 3 game suspension after a late hit

I didn't see the game. I just saw everyone up in arms on the internet after the game was over. I went to watch the hit. I was expecting to see that Azeez decapitated Lawrence from the way everyone was losing their minds over it. Pretty underwhelmed by the hit.

 

It was the outcome of the hit with Lawrence ending up in the fencing pose. If he had gotten up uninjured, this wouldn’t have been largely ignored.

 

Us against the world mentality. Hope it lights a fire on the whole teams' ass during the bye week. This might save our locker room which was faltering before the hit, now it might galvanize us.

 

Is 3 games more of a negotiation tactic by the league, knowing that he would appeal? League says 3, player/union says 1, settle on 2 games?

 

Society doesn't agree this.

Punishments aren't the same for first offenses vs repeaters.

Perhaps Azeez was "lucky" he wasn't already suspended and/or given higher fines.

You haven't been paying attention. Without Christian Harris, Al-Shaair has been a godsend on the field. The defense is NOT the same without him.

 

The way Caserio called it "Bullshit" in a press conference will help the Texans in the long run with players on the team and future free agents. It shows the organization will stand behind players.

I was asking for him to be suspended. I would’ve been dumbfounded if it was 3 games.
