Azeez Al-Shaair gets a 3 game suspension after a late hit

I don't think its getting reduced

 

I didn't call DeMeco a piece of trash. You are exaggerating my comment now to the extreme. I don't blame him for the dirty hit either. Do I think he's too coddling at times? Yes.

Agree with it entirely. There's always a degree of bang bang on plays like that. But he, indisputably, could have softened that hit mid air. Instead he fully led with a hard forearm knowing the QB was sliding. Its' absurd people are trying to defend this as "not that bad". People need to leave their caveman BS in the past.

Regardless of opinion, it hurts the defense quite a bit. He's clearly quite important as the QB on that side of the ball. That's why DeMeco babies his punk ass.

 

Well, given the way the rules are written and how they're enforced, yes: you cannot dive low at a QB who is sliding and make contact with his head. End Story. If you're going middle-high on him and he slides last second then it's relatively easy to avoid that hit. Also, players going full speed adjust in mid-air all the time, no reason he couldn't have done the same.

It was a dumb play. Is it worse than dozens of others we've seen? Nope.

Dirty players like Al-Shaair don't deserve any benefit of the doubt.

 

This season:
•Branch ejected against GB, plays against us the next week
•Derwin ejected, suspended one game
•Kareem Jackson was ejected, fined, ejected, fined, ejected, suspended after 3 games.

Commentary about him from people that don’t know anything about him. And for the league to make the commentary they made, quite frankly it’s embarrassing.

Never been suspended, never been ejected. Now we’re saying he’s gonna be suspended 3 games.

We don’t have a good explanation from the league.

The picture that has been painted, quite frankly, is bullshit.

 

He's not wrong about "consistency", not wrong at all.

They broke BDN... I haven't seen the automaton known as Nick Caserio that emphatic in a long time

 

Like a lot of us we played in an era of sports where the mentality was no blood - no foul... 20 years a go that hit would be just another hit...

The game has changed and the rules have changed, so either you play by them or you leave the game.... In todays ruling that was a cheap shot, no if's, ands or buts.. So he did the crime and now he has to do the time...

A Houston team is getting railroaded again. Y’all better not give into this national media crusade. **** them.

 

This morning ESPN listed all of the incidents where Al-Shaair has been fined for late hits. These definitely played a part in the suspension. From what I can tell he got 1 game for Sunday, 1 game for his history of late hits and 1 game for his behavior on Sunday in the aftermath.
