I think it’s a bit excessive, at most it should have been 2 games. But I guess they are trying to make an example of him.

Well DeMeco has his back, so we're good. Right? He's a good guy. I guess it doesn't matter if good guys do that kind of dirty crap unnecessary against a crappy team that costs us losing that valuable defensive player against the Dolphins and Chiefs.

I like it. I think this will give the team a legit “us against the world” mentality, especially considering how the jags got away with a super dirty cheap shot on cj and multiple head hunts on nico.

Expecting these elite athletes to pull up when a QB slides late at the first down marker is a tough ask. I saw a more egregious hit on Jameis last night.

Not surprised - especially when I saw ESPN list his history of fines for late hits. That plus his behavior after the incident had to factor into him getting that 3rd game. I was expecting a two game suspension but this was the wrong weekend for him to do what he did - especially given what had happened during the weekend with the brawls breaking out at college games. I'm with deb4rockets on this one: this costs them a valuable player with a vital skillset that they are going to desperately need in their upcoming games against Miami, Baltimore and KC.

That is what I was thinking too. The Texans have been burned plenty when QB’s extend those scrambles into massive yardage. I saw him break into his slide micro seconds before he got plowed to the ground. It was a horrible hit, and a suspension was warranted, but 3 games is excessive in my opinion.

But when it was even trending, even on the main stream news websites, I knew it was going to be a much longer than anticipated suspension….

Hey, I get what you are saying especially when you see those little fake slides Mahomes uses to juke defenders but this was not the case with Lawrence on Sunday. Talking heads on 610 currently attacking John Runyon who was a true dirty player when he played.

Combo of his reputation & not getting suspended for punch on Roschon against Bears.

I think it would have been 1 or 2 game suspension for just about anybody else

Also Love the announcers laughing about it considering the outrage with AL-Shaair

He's a former congressman. Any attack against him is considered political and out of bounds for Clutchfans. </s>

Due to previous incidents, 3 games seems right. This could not have come at a worse time; we have our 3 biggest games after the Bye, so the timing really hurts the TEAM. I love the dude's passion, but he has to tone it down and play smarter. While I think it's so hard to try and judge these players when they're going full speed, but the rules are the rules and leading with the forearm was not a good look

That’s not true, but also, the NFL just hands out suspensions with zero consistency. Almost as if they are making it up as they go along *cough cough*

It’s a zero game suspension if he plays for the Chiefs or any NY team.

I understand the outrage of how the NFL isn't consistent when giving these type suspensions. It's so messed up, and that's sports in general. Bias is real. That being said, it's hard to ignore the way he raised that forearm prior to that hit. It looked pretty damn dirty to me, and if that was CJ knocked out, and carted off the field like that I sure as hell would have been livid if nothing came from it.

3 games pay forfeited too. That's about a quarter million, no?

I didn’t watch the game, only saw clips on YouTube

But I was honestly shocked at the outrage over the hit. Seems like they are asking him to make no play on the quarterback at all in that situation.

Respect. This is an example of a Texans fan I can roll with. A representation of the Texans fans I know personally.

    Bravo!

Blaming DeMeco is weird for one late hit. Do you think Kerr is a piece of trash because of what he lets draymond do? Or Pop because of what he let Bruce Bowen do? For the record, i do think that kerr and pop are both scumbags and if the texans had 20 more incidents like this, i would agree on Ryans.

Three games is ridiculous. Hopefully, he'll appeal and get it reduced to one, but since he's a repeat offender, it might still end up being at least two. Fingers crossed that Christian Harris is ready to step in two weeks from now.

and what about the Jags players for escalating the situation? no accountability for them? so, its ok to throw a guy to the ground when his back is turned and start the scuffle between teams because he was defending his teammate? noted.

again, the way the injury looked, the Jags players, the announcers, and the fans, made this way worse. some of these I can understand but the league has to be better. every single player that sets foot on a football field knows what they signed up for.
