Definitely looked good playing off of Sengun those couple of possessions even though didn’t make a shot. No one is looking to create for Reed when he’s with the bench unit, and he’s not aggressive enough himself to force the issue when he does get the ball. It’s a luxury for the everyone on the team to have Sengun in the lineup with them, Jabari practically has every shot he takes spoonfed by Sengun.
Maybe I’m old, but I’m from a generation that supports our homegrown Houston rookies. In fact, it is one of the most pleasurable aspects of having a city and a team. Watching them grow up here is the best. Keep working Reed Sheppard! Similar to the @DaDakota post, asset culture can be tiresome.
I think he needs to double down and grow another mustache. I realize that he grew it out to support No Nut November, but I really do think he should bring it back year round. Seeing him without it yesterday was just shocking and wrong.
Nah the moustache is causing wind resistance and affecting his shot. He should keep his face clean so he can be as aerodynamic as possible.
Why has he not been sent to the Gatorade Developmental League? What does playing 10 minutes do? Cardio? That’s not say he deserves more minutes because he probably doesn’t.
I hope you all aren't counting on a Steve Nash kind of career trajectory. In 2024 teams don't wait 4-5 years for players to find themselves anymore. If he's going to develop like Nash then it will be on another team.
This post would make sense If we were in year 3 or 4 with Reed, but it is plain odd posting it after 21 games when we are 15-6. Still, let’s pretend it is year 3 or 4 with Reed. Jaylen Brown would be a nice counter-example…
Aren't we on our 4th year of waiting for Jalen to shoot consistently at a level higher than well below average for a starting SG? This is his 4th year playing an average of over 32 minutes a game. I'll bet Sheppard will consistently shoot at a higher proficiency than Jalen with one only one year of 32 min a game. That, and have a better ASST/TO rate and more steals and blocks per game.
Shepherd belongs in the G-League right now. Baffling to me why he isn’t there. He is currently not at the same level as other players. His backcourt mate at Kentucky is at least serviceable. Shepherd isn’t flashing AT ALL
Udoka for some reason does not trust Aaron Holiday whom he trusted last year......I dunno. They signed him, play him.
TBH the fact that Ime doesn't want to send him down and is willing to play him over a vet gives me some confidence that Reed is showing a lot more in practice than in games.
