Haha Alpi just said in the postgame interview that Bari missed a lot of shots today and he missed the triple double because of him..
9 assists and 1 turnover for a C that can do what he can do is a disgusting level of talent. That's what you'd expect to see from a prime Chris Paul.
last few games he started off slow but lifted his game big time as the game went on. Really like the grit and determination.
Having rough starts to games was a problem last year, too. Fixing those is gonna make his numbers look better. I still love the fact that he delivers when it matters the most. He constantly created open looks for other guys today.
With better shooters around him, it is not difficult for him to average trippledouble stats and this makes him top 15 player.. Unfortunately, his mostly passes are wasted by his team mates...
It seems to me that Alpy is shying away from his patented fadeaways. Aside from converting on most of the missed bunnies at the rim, I think if he added the flamingo back into his jump shot diet his FG% would go back up. His creativity passing-wise has also been missing of late, even in his rookie year we saw more confident and stylish passes than we do now. It would be a shame if that part of his game disappeared for good.
I think the passing part comes from Udoka and the coaching team. I have seen several interviews where they stressed they want him to be less flashy and make simple passes.
That's unfortunate. He appears unsure of himself and slow when doing the simple passes. This might be a case where good intentions limit your best player. His passing used to be Jokic-lite. Now its more Sabonis-lite.
