    Last night stopped at a Ukrainian food truck that had varenyky that are identical to Polish peirogi. They were a fairly new business and they only had potato and cheese ones but were planning on sweet ones filled Nutella and honey.

    Slavs are usually subdivided into East Slavs (Russians, Ukrainians, and Belorussians), West Slavs (Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, and Lusatians [Sorbs]), and South Slavs (Bosnians, Serbs, Croats, Slovenes, Macedonians, and Bulgars).

    There are some Regional differences amongst the Slavs, but they also have quite a bit in common.

    Lee Harvey Oswald's wife (Marina) was from Russia (Belarus?). There is a mention in the Warren Commission Report about a Dallas police officer that spoke some Czech being able to understand some of what she said in Russian, but not all of it. Whether the issue was that his skills in the Czech language weren't good enough or that she used some words that were Russian specific wasn't explored.
