This defense is better than any Texas defense in my lifetime and I’ve been watching Texas since Akers took over. the secondary is so good, that no one even tries to test them so you don’t get to hear their names.
I mentioned this elsewhere, but some 80's Akers D and one of Mack's in the 00's (I was way too young or frankly not even born to enjoy the Royal teams) is about all I can compare to this year's.
Both of his TO's were totally on him. The pick was a lazy pass (that got tipped, given) to a blanket-covered receiver, and the fumble was him not protecting the ball as a runner.
How are we feeling going into the CFB playoffs? I'm still uneasy about the offense, but thank god for our defense. Holy **** - it's amazing.
I feel alright. The defense will keep us in every game. We could've been up 31-0 last night if not for a couple of freak bad plays by Ewers. I don't want to play Ohio State early. I'd love to eventually play Oregon in the natty and get revenge on Dillon Gabriel for last year's OU game.
We’re trending in the right direction. Defense on point. Quinn needs to get it together. I think we’re safely in the top 8 no matter what, but a top-4 spot would be nice. Although, it would be crazy to have a playoff game at DKR if we don’t win next week.
Quinn doesn’t have to play anything close to perfect next week. I think the game will be totally different than the first one.
Georgia has not looked great except against our game. I think the game will look different than last time even though it is in pretty much their home turf.
Hopefully it's a replay of the 2018 Big 12 championship. We beat OU in the Cotton Bowl and they beat us at Jerry World.
The championship team had more stars like Huff, Griffin, Orakpo, etc, but they gave up a lot of points USC, A&M, OK State etc. This team hasn't given up more than 300 yards to any team this season.
Ewers throws a low ball his release is meh, ultimately I think he will kill UT's chance at a chip.... DD
No surprises. Justus Terry is going to announce his decision on Friday. Georgia is favored but we are still in play. His signing will pretty determine if Texas or Georgia has the number 1 class.
