What is going on w Ausar in Detroit? I would have thought he'd be playing better, i guess hes just coming off injuries. Wonder if Detroit would be open to trading him, seems like Amen is way ahead in development compared to him even looking at his last season.
Ausar is fine but that blood clot thing is very concerning in the long term not going to lie. I don't want my player to get sidelined in the playoffs because he has blood flowing in his veins. That's some beta ****. It's equivalent to drowning while drinking water. You are drinking it to live dummy. So i'll pick the superior twin, one with superior genetics. Amen.
I think they'll probably hold onto him and give him more time to get right just based on what they see Amen doing...But if they were willing to move him I'd love to get him.
0% chance they will have any interest in trading him this year. You gotta give him at least 15-20 games to get himself together. Remember last year how many folks ripped into rookie Amen like he was utter trash when he initially struggled after returning from his injury/illness. IMO, that was one of the lowest periods I can remember on CF.
One thing I think about is Amen doing an interview last year and saying Ausar "isn't very good". The reaction the interviewer gave was a laugh, naturally, as it seemed like brotherly joking. Amen doubled down and said next, "I'm not joking". Maybe he wasn't. I do think Ausar probably has a similar work ethic and defense, so that alone makes him an NBA player.
Amen is Ausar’s prototype The Rockets and NBA pundits are raving about Amen The Pistons must be drooling on the potential of having an Amen on their team
This is Ausur Thompson's highlights from his first game back a few days ago. He looked pretty well integrated for a guy who's been out for so long. And I'm surprised how much he initiated the offense and set up his teammates. I'm guessing he plays a point forward role for them. Anyways, glad to see him back.
I mean that is kind of messed up, most players will hype up their peers because perception can impact their next contract. I think they both just have a dry sense of humor and are competitive w one another.
I'd bet a large, large amount of money that Amen said that to motivate his twin. Whether or not he was being sincere is kind of irrelevant. There is no doubt in my mind that he meant for Ausar to hear it, though.
Both twins are gonna be real good. If Ausar didnt have that blood clot he would be on the same trajectory as Amen. Predraft I liked Ausar more but ever since getting drafted Amen has shown more improvement in his shot. That along with his better health makes him the superior twin imo.
A few things jump out about that video. First, Amen seems significantly more muscular. It makes sense if Ausar had restrictions for the last year. Another is that layup at the end. Even last year before Amen's new muscle, he reverse dunks that, and he does it easily. Ausar having to turn around and shoot a layup is very different than Amen.
Interesting observation, if I recall, I believe Ausar was labelled as the bigger/stronger of the two pre-draft. Amen though, was always touted as the better athlete and that's been true in the NBA as well. I would trade Cam+Tate out for Ausar in a heartbeat. Like, a quarter of a heartbeat.
Wouldn't want to but if they countered Reed, Tate for Ausar I'd be asking for some draft pick compensation too. Reed is a better player than Cam, there isn't a lot of projecting to do on that. He's a better shooter, better playmaker and understands team defense. If they throw in a 1st too it would be hard to pass. Reed, Tate for Ausar, 1st my answer is yes.
