I think I was a little harsh up there. We will go with 'Fools' Happy Thanksgiving From all of Packer Nation
I don't know what to expect from this team anymore. I think the offense not scoring in the second half again would be a good bet. Even if the Texans beat the Jaguars it won't give me more confidence against the Chiefs or Ravens. Especially because they'll have to play 3 games in 10 days. Wtf?
There is absolutely no reason CJ shouldn't be able to throw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns or Mixon not to ave 5 or 6 yards per carry this game. The Jags have the worst defense in the NFL. We just need our defense to do what the Eagles did to Trevor. Zero touchdowns and 2 interceptions. I hope we knock their lights out Sunday!
The keys to stopping the Jags offense are: D Line pressure --especially up the middle not allowing ETN or Bigby to cut back or bounce runs outside because they cannot run between the tackles due to vision and poor blocking, and pressing/mucking up the receivers to mess up their timing esp BTJ The biggest issue will be the interior D Line. DT Foley Fatukasi was able to make plays in the run game and get pocket pressure last game, particularly in the 2nd half. If he can get healthy and play well, that should make it much easier. Plus the Texans were able to manufacture that line pressure against Detroit. It will just be recreating that. Jags don't have the passing route concepts or the receivers to do what Detroit did to overcome the D Line pressure and corralling the run game.
It's a little painful watching teams we barely lost to (DET, GB) win games, especially a blowout. Tonight was against Miami. Texans play Miami. Texans "should" win. After last week's suckage, Texans need to split between KC-BAL and win every other game (11-6 record). Otherwise, we're a fraud living off a crap division once again. Regardless, I still believe IF we win a playoff game, we'll get blown out in the divisional round.
Those teams are well coached. They are not more talented than we are, they are just way better coached.
We can go over the 53 for both the Pack and the Texans. Player by player. Just let me know. You are correct, the Packers coaching staff is one of the best in the league. The players have as much to do with that as anyone. You keep trying to claim the Texans are better than almost every team in the league, & the only reason they aren't is because DeMeco and staff are ineffectual. Demeco is very well respected around the league. You won't find anyone that says he is not a high quality coach, except a Texans fan who is trying to make excuses for why the Texans are not one of the elite teams in the NFL. Did you crap on DeMeco last season when the Texans went from laughingstock to respectable? DeMeco took a team that won a total of 11 games over three years and turned them into a 10-7 team that won a Wild Card game. Slow your roll on crappin' on just the coaching staff. The coaches don't play. The Texans will never be elite if those in that building start pointing fingers like you are doing now. Thank god there are good coaches and quality individuals like DeMeco in that building to keep that from happening.
I'm specifically talking about offense. I don't think Demeco is hands on with the offense. The defense is playing well enough, I have no complaints (other than giving up 30 to Will Levis). The offense coaching is bad. We would have beat you guys if it played better. The defense forced how many turnovers in that Packer game?
Oh ok, got it now. Slowik is the reason why the Houston Texans are not an elite team. Without Slowik the Lombardi's will star rolling in. I see no reason that what you're saying will not come true once Bobby Slowik leaves to become a head coach. The Texans will no doubt be elite, true contenders every season after Slowik is gone. This will work out great for the Texans, because Bobby Slowik will be a top candidate for the head coaching position of several teams at seasons end. He was pursued by 5 teams the last hiring cycle. I think he will enjoy the ride of being pursued more, then choosing the best fit for he and his family. Happy for him. I will look forward to witnessing the Texans dynasty once Bobby Slowik is flown in to his new city.
You're also forgetting that the pack threw a backwards pass that the texans recovered but the refs called incomplete. If the refs don't save them the packers lose to the texans
