I really don't want to root for Lamelo, can't stand the guy. Lonzo is at least humble, Lamelo is Lavar 2.0 mixed with Tittok bro. No thanks.
Relax. The best teams are slow cooked. We are 3rd in the West. The defense is there. The offense will come in time.
You can't deny his talent and abilities. He's a go to guy down the stretch. He leads the league in 4th quarter points. He can make something out of nothing anytime he wants.
I've watched most of his games. His teammates that are available sucks other than Miller. lamelo has to score that many points just to be close in games. If he had good smart teammates like with us he would put us over the top. Slim chance they trade him though. Let's
A lot of guys are not going to be likeable until they are on your own team. This is especially true when Lamelo knows hes single handedly carrying a team that does not even appreciate him. He is still young, and I think Ime could help check his ego w a winning culture, some solid vets around him, and some discipline. Charlotte does not have the right vets around him, and the whole org seems toxic. LaMelo seems very immature, but think he is still worth the gamble and can be taught to play and behave the right way. We are not going to be able to trade for a guy that has it all and is still that young, we will need to work with someone.
I agree and Lamelo is immature in a sense that he is so confident and fearless that he's never met a shot he didn't like and sometimes fouls too much But not immature in bad attitude kinda way. He plays with so much joy and love for the game. Plus plays very hard. He's a gym rat also. And like you said he's a kinda guy that you can hate when he's on the opposing team cuz he's just so talented and reckless on the court. But the organization, coaches, teammates etc love him as a person and of course the player he is
I really think Booker is the only player that makes sense. Jalen, Jabari and a bunch of picks for Booker? I can see a world where that could get it done.
For me, De'Aaron Fox is the guy. Next year will be contract year for him. Will he want to stay in a small market on a mediocre team? I would offer Reed, Cam, and every pick we've got.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/42654846/anthony-edwards-rips-wolves-frontrunners-loss-kings Edwards is the guy to wait for. He’ll keep getting frustrated with Minnesota and eventually want out. Stars make the call in this league. If he wants out there’s nothing stopping him.
What really is the solution in Minnesota? That KAT trade may have been a massive mistake, Randle apparently is playing selfish and trying to get paid, if they double down and pay him that team could be done. He just turned 23 this season, so I guess he can just ride it out for a few more years before they trade him away, that would give them a few more chances to try to retool or tank for a top pick to pair w him. He should be the top target for us. Was hopeful on LaMelo, and now hes injured again, wonder if they will be open to trading him soon due to his availability issues. They are 4-10 in their last 14 games, and have a ton of injuries this year, so LaMelo is having to do a ton due to the lack of players being available. They probably should just tank the season.
He's not injured. I have him on my fantasy team and it states "calf soreness" and will be held out for tomorrow (1st game of a back to back). Hopefully they just don't want to risk injury for a trade or maybe the Hornets are secretly trying to tank for Cooper Flagg lol
He may ultimately ask for a trade and get one, but he has four years left on his contract after this season, so I would be surprised if it happens anytime soon. If a young-ish guy in the next tier down becomes available, like Fox, maybe even a guy like Desmond Bane, I'm looking into what it takes to get that deal done.
A minor but potentially useful acquistion could be Seth Curry 2.8 M 1 year from the Hornets for three second round picks.
Knecht moves to his natural position at the 2 and gets more minutes, Lakers get to offload that horrible Gabe Vincent contract and replace him with an actual playable guy in Holiday, and get another pick to try and swing a bigger deal at the deadline. Most importantly for them, they get a chance to shore up the 5th-worst defense in the league by adding Brooks. We free up minutes for Amen and Tari and add a 6th man who can shoot and generate offense during the lulls we sometimes have, and who can potentially replace Jalen or FVV in the starting lineup down the line.
