Nobody should never question his work ethic again. He’s not a natural defender, but he worked his ass off to really good on that end now. He moves his feet a lot quicker than he used to. IQ and effort has always been there
Our backup centers are pitiful defenders but i could see putting an amen/tari/bari frontcourt if you need to switch in situations. His improvement has been awesome though, raises his ceiling.
"**** we need rim protection, get Alpy in there" isn't something I thought I'd ever say but here we are.
I don't ever think he's been a bad defender the rockets have just finally found the right scheme. Even his rookie year when he jumped out to trap it created a lot of turnovers but we decided to have him in drop coverage for some odd reason. I love when we use him to trap instead because his bests assets are his initial quickness and disruptive hands. He's never been a drop coverage center and never will be.
I'm personally not a fan of the just give the ball to Alpi offense in the crunch, but obviously Ime disagrees. It's apparent that the organization and Ime sees Alpi as the "guy". Not only did they go to him for the last possession, but they went back to him repeatedly in overtime. Also, I expect that Alpi will continue to get the ball in the clutch to make the winning play (score or assist). Ime has shown that he doesn't stop going away from something just because it's not immediately successful.
Technically, Sengun's only been playing defense for a few games. He's not really any better than Landale technically
Jalen being our best player, jalen being better than alpi on defense, landale (lol) being better as good as alpi on defense
Green can play well intermittently but not consistently. That’s been his problem since his rookie year. Every stat shows that. Overall below average starting SG
Is the chump back? Jalen has a once in a blue moon good game and he decided to talk crap? I would not know because I cannot see his bullcrap.
