I don't think they get through foster even if cp is healthy but it would have been at least more interesting, but that game 7 from foster is as dominant of a performance as i've seen in a playoff game.

Foster was a challenge but honest to God I think Houston wins by 10.

Idk man, that foster performance was maybe the most dominating single game performance in recent playoff history. Maybe game 5 2016 lebron, but even that's a stretch. He was incandescent that day.

You can hate all you want but it's definitely the truth. Mainly because there is no KD Steph warriors. No team is close to as good as that so that gives every team a better chance. 2018 rockets in todays nba would be guaranteed a title,

I wonder if metrics could’ve accounted for the flakiness of Joel and the breakiness of PG13

This Philly season is a disaster in the vein of our 15-16 Rockets when we thought Ty Lawson would take us to the promised land

The Sixers could've used a certain bearded man tonight who dropped bombs in Washington

but.. instead Morey chose to waste a year of Embiid's prime and signed the podcaster.

Let’s not lump Rafael Stone playing at D-III Williams College with West playing on the Lakers and Meyers playing at UCLA.

I do agree with your larger point though. Morey never played or coached at the professional level - yet is making decisions and there is potentially a disconnect there.

I’ve always been a Morey fan but I do think he’s shown too many times a fatal flaw to overvalue stars that have health reliability issues. I get it that if there is a “chance” they have a heathy season than that probability of high success technically outweighs the probability of a younger rebuilding/growing team being able to eventual win a title.

But judgement is still a factor that does pay off. I think one of the analytics out there in NFL points to greater probability to win if you go for the 4th down every single time. But the judgement of coaches to not take a chance at going for it on the 4th with 5 yards to go on your own 20 yard line in a close game still matters.

Banking on Joel Embiid and PG alone is like kind of like that big Hail Mary on a 4th down that Morey didn’t have to make. I love PG and maybe someone does trade for him but most likely he’s damaged goods and that cap flexibility could have been better managed. He over valued aging stars like Lowry and good aging role players like EG. I don’t know if trading Embiid a year or two ago was the right move but you needed to see the writing on the wall that he just wasn’t reliable moving forward and you needed to adjust your roster to keep him but not need him on a nightly basis (see Rockets and Steven Adams) or make a move to get value while he had value.

Morey is a good GM but I just see a guy who is a bit too stubborn and maybe not having someone in the foxhole with him who can tell him the math isn’t reflecting good judgement.

Any team that can make a 3 pointers to clinch a series has a better shot than that rockets team...
