Ok, it seems pretty clear you are a Sengun stan and that is 100% your prerogative. I think that will pretty much end the conversation here though since we cannot have a reasonable and logical discussion on the matter. Thank you for your time.
turn the team into a Wnba team. ask for jabari and jalen to call themselves binary and she they he bla bla shiat. i dont get that at all. then sell the underpants. success. true story.
Might as well send Amen instead. Our team has offensive issues more so than defensive issues so it would make more sense form the Rockets perspective. I'm just kidding. I don't really want to trade any of the young guys at least for now. But if Amen continues to hamper floor spacing he could be the one out.
I could easily see the NBA not having back to back champions for the next 5 years or so I can see Stars like Jokic or Giannis not winning another championship any time soon The teams are all now very even It seems Rocket River
Rockets won't be contenders in the next 3-4 yrs. SGA 25, Luka Doncic 25, Ant 22, Tatum 26 Except for Ant you can see young guys only become real deal at around age 25 and our oldest young guys are 22. We can make noise like OKC but they wont be contenders until our guys hit their prime. 3-4 yrs are a long time in the NBA 2018 Rox were first seed 2021 they were tanking and rebuilding. So to talk about a path to championship is premature. Rox are just passing the time now waiting for the kids to grow up.
We need to find a Dallas Brunson . .. . OKC Harden . . . .a Clippers Shai Gil . . ..a Jaylen Brown pre Contact Someone on the cusp of being a star. .. someone that needs a shot We thought we had that with Jalen Green maybe got the will but needs to work on skills Jabari I think has the skills but not the will Sengun is high skill and high will to build on Rocket River
Jalen Green is significantly more skilled than Bari. Like by a Pacific ocean sized gap. What are you talking about my dude? Jabari's number one complaint relative to the young core is lack of dynamic skills with the ball in his hands. He's kinda a stiff with robotic movements. If anything, Jalen would be the one the average clutch fans poster would say has the talent/skill but lacks the will because of his nail polish and the manner in which he speaks(mumbles) and Jabari lacks the talent but has the will because he speaks more proper and tries harder on defense and small things like chasing loose balls.
I have faith in Jabari - When say still and will . .. . I don't think he will be a superstar I think he can be a GOOD third or fourth option - I'm thinking giving up was HEAT Bosch was Strong Defense. some scoring I think GREEN WANTS IT . . . I hope so anyway . . . . but yes I can see him being "distracted" Green's Ceiling is higher but IMO Bari can reach his ceiling more easily than Green can Rocket River
Personally I am very high on Jabari if he was on a different team like Magic who forced him to be a large part of the offense he'd be further along. Instead we treat him as the 4rth option and he struggles to score over 10 ppg due to lack of attempts. Yeah he doesn't have a good handle but neither does JJJ and Giannis. Rox are super lucky they got Jabari cuz 6'10 3nD who has mass to play PF or C he will prob be a Rocket for life or will be traded for a buttload of assets or a superstar. This archetype is extremely valued look at Al Horford or Tobias Harris or even Bolbol. Everyone knows Bolbol is lazy AF but they still get him anyway and Tobias Harris literally got paid 25M per after being a total deadbeat in the playoffs. There's a lot of thin PFs who can be a stretch forward like Davis Bertans or PJ Washington but players who are defensive presences while providing that stretch is extremely rare. Jabari is who enables us to have Sengun and Amen on the floor at the same time.
This is a shooters' league, wtihout 36% from 3 on good volume he is not going to lead this team by himself all 82 games. A big without total handle of a guard. It is what it is.
A lot has happened since this post…. Yet the needs remain. Adding to our coaching staff is beginning to look like an must. Shooting is where most / all players would benefit. stepping away from the long term veterans is the second step. Then churning the non-core for players (great role players on solid contracts) that fit with the core is the final step. It’s so fun to watch nowadays knowing that there is always a legitimate chance of winning. Plus the promise of getting better. Go Rockets
I think Stone laid out the plan the day he traded Harden. Tanked for a shot at difference makers (which he certainly got in Sengun and Amen and maybe Jabari and Tari). Continue to amass trade assets (both players and draft picks). Develop the youngsters with an eye toward adding a star when one becomes available. I think the one thing that has changed is we may have found a superstar without making a trade in Amen and/or Sengun. If no star becomes available without gutting the team, we can add through the draft with the Suns picks when they inevitably re-build. I don't think it is imperative that we sign and Booker or Giannis to win a championship if our core continues to progress. It looks like we missed on Jalen, but we have shown we are capable of winning a lot of games with him playing horrible. The way forward is still just to adhere to the plan as laid out and don't get impatient.
I am not willing to GUT the team for anyone right now While I did propose GREEN + REED for LaMelo . . .that is not gutting the team Green's inconsistency is bothersome Reed is still an unknown but I know we would have to sweeten the pot for Charlotte Bari/Sengun/Amen/Tari - is our strong young core FVV/Brooks - Strong GLue Vets Landale totally disappointed me last night Rocket River
Looking back I’d move Tari into the second category together with Amen. I’m glad that after 4 (somewhat wasted) years we have finally found our core in Sengun, Amen, Tari. Going forward we need to consolidate and upgrade on Bari and Green. We lost the chance to make a play for Mitchell and Lauri, partially because we were not sure about our own players. I think we should be more open to taking a calculated risk in the trade market.
