Actually I think the "narrative" has already determined that Wemby gets DPOY this season, regardless of what actually happens in the real, non-predetermined universe...but if it aint him, yep, theyll anoint Rudey again

 

Honestly if they WERE legit designed by 4th graders, then that'd at least be a decent excuse....Instead, they actually paid some "graphic design elevation expert ( Victor Solomon )" several million to basically randomly projectile vomit some paint onto each club's floor, like it or not...

 

Please please don't speak that into existence, manifesting it in actuality....I can easily see some 30-shot, 18-point games for him if he's given enough burn/rope...( rope-burn?)

Well, I do too, but honestly, to be only a spot-up shooter, he first needs to actually become a spot-up shooter...right now he's a void. But it's still really early, he can still be reliable. Eye test aside from stats just seems like he doesnt have confidence that he belongs at this level

 

I saw a report nba owners are pushing hard now to change playoff format to top 16 teams and get rid of East / West. That will most likely happen in 2 years.

I think this should be done by the beginning of the next season.

 

...I still pray for relegation for the bottom 10 teams to destroy any notion of tanking, which sadly will never happen.

 

I got tied up with a bunch of other stuff so couldn’t watch the game but caught some on radio and the highlights.

Sweet won by the Rockets and this young team looks like it’s really coming together.

 

I am down with it. But then they also have to change the regular season scheduling to increase the inter-conference games. It's easier to have a good record if you play twice as much against a weaker conference opponents.

 

Watched 4th quarter from neighborhood bar after bowling league, great game. I told my son before I left I thought we would win, Minny is struggling and our D is legit.

I would say he is pretty consistent at this point...consistently inefficient with random flashes of greatness that is.

 

It’s so obvious this team is 1 piece away.

An all star guard who can make open 3’s and be relatively efficient next to Van Fleet.

This is a second round playoff team as constructed.

If Jalen could just develop a shot then it solves all your issues.

 

If Jalen could develop a shot it would solve all our problems, but it is looking bleak isn't it? If Jabari can play consistently the way he has the last 6 games or so, we can afford to replace Jalen with Amen and give Jalen a chance to cook against bench units. If he can't even do that, then it is time (this off-season) to look outside the organization for a legitimate shooting guard to replace FVV after next season. FVV, Jabari, Brooks, Tari and eventually Sheppard should be legitimate space makers for Amen and Sengun to become the full-time initiators in the half-court. Ime will not change his starters until we hit a dry spell and lose a few games in a row. I'd rather he be pre-emptive, but it is not his style

 

Rocket of the Game Award:

Alperen Sengun. Big-time triple double and took it to Gobert. Big-time block in the clutch. Big-time buckets. Big-time performance.


Sharpshooter Rocket:

Jabari Smith Jr. 19 points, 8/9 FG and 3/4 from 3. Started the game with some splashes, was pure all night. Had that incredible weakside block, probably the best 2 way game from him as well. This was a glimpse of everything Jabari can be imo. Helluva game young buck, helluva game.


The Rockets Red Glare Award:

Amen F. Thompson.

If this guy don't make you wanna run through a brick wall... He looks comfortable shooting that corner 3. Gets to the paint like it's easy to do. How about going Predator mode and hunting down Dillingham in transition, giving him that work, taking the ball 70 ft in a blink of an eye and getting an easy bucket in the clutch? And starting OT...


Honorable mention to Dillon and Fred for coming in with buckets too. Dillon in particular just breathing fire out there, guy is having himself a career season.
