ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Timberwolves 11/26/2024

Fans can get too worked up over individual games, you will play a lot of close games and it becomes a make or miss league. We lost extremely close games against Milwaukee and Portland because we missed, we won an extremely close game today because we made. The Rockets don't have many good shooters, but FVV/Bari and eventually Green are better shooters than they've shown.

One of the reason I've been so impressed with the team is that despite the cold shooting fromthe aforementioned players, they have usually pushed their point margin outside the range for late doubt, which is what good teams are supposed to do. All teams usually play around .500 when a game is really close late.

 

Edwards came within a gasp of clinching a victory from the jaws of defeat. We need Tari's defense on the floor to close things out, even when he isn't scoring.
Fortunately, our guys played well in OT for the win.

 

Maybe they should make that the regular design for Toyota Center.

I'd hate to watch it, but if it helps them shoot better, so be it.

 

For the impatient eggheads who could not see the forest through the trees, YES.

 

Reed is looking like a bust. Should have taken Edey and that is why I had what ended up being a 20 page post at draft time begging the Rockets to take Edey over Sheppard and Clingan. No pun intended but we got the short end of the stick.

 

Are people really complaining about a rookie before the midway point of the season...? ...especially on a team that had pre-existing depth when he joined it? Jason Kidd played at the same level with more volume his rookie year as a #2 pick.

 

overall FG is all that matters to me about shooting great. He takes some of the worst 2 point shots you will ever see. Sometimes he forgets his size. At least he hit better than the 30.5 percent from three he had been shooting before today's game.

 

Reed is no Jason Kidd. I worry that Reed is only going to be a spot-up shooter.

 

Overrated star Donte DiVincenzo held zo 3 points, that was it.

 

We are 3rd in the west right now. My word how awesome is that after the last few years we’ve had.

Seriously. They frustrate me ALMOST aa much as the '96 squad. Which is awesome, as that was our last REAL title threat ( yes I remember 2018 bein up 3-2 on G State, CP3 hammy, etc, etc). This franchise doles out potential incredibleness and abject incompetent heartbreak in equal measure, so the championship potential is inversely proprtional to the maddening aggravation quotient....So buckle up errybody

 

Entertaining nail biting game. Rockets built a 16 pt cushion but Ime lost it due a brain fart lineup. Thank god Finch one uped him by taking out Naz Reid who is their true superstar.

The Fab Five deserve their flowers. DB, FVV, Jabari, Amen and of course Sengod these guys showed up and showed out.

The other guys Jalen, Sheppard, Tari and Scrub Landale need to do suicide runs for that shameful display. These guys all played like scrubs little effort and even less effectiveness. Ime deserves blame too why not play Aaron Holiday? If Jalen is making a brick house put in Holiday before things spiral out of control.

Particularly impressive to me are Sengod and Amen. These two guys did it on both sides of the ball. They played extended minutes too, credit to Udoka for going with what worked. Amen had so many highlight plays and Sengun out defensed Gobert and also scored on his ass multiple times. These two are insane.

Finally, I'm starting to think Ant is extremely overrated. I think people were just being threatened by Luka, Jokic and Giannis and just latched on to any promising black American dude. Amen was on him and the guy couldnt do anything, couldnt get separation and all his 3s were clanking too.

I got a different from vs SGA, SGA was unstoppable no matter what you throw at him. Ant oth was helpless.

Finally I hope Tari is alright wonder whats going on with him.

 

It still wouldn't defend you from bricks, though....
