As a half term senator, Kamala mostly came out of nowhere. She had 3 full years to build that spotlight but didn't come back with any or many feathers in her cap. Vance should probably pay attention, but his standard of success is less about governing and more about avoiding obvious public fails while managing the media like what desantis did in FL to raise his profile...stick it to the man (his admin as David vs the Cabal driven Media as Goliath) while defending "the little guy". She had a reset when Biden dropped out, but even when I gave her a chance, I honestly didn't feel like she was ready or wanted to take hard issues head on even if her convictions were unpopular. She never had to sell **** or make that sale to a hostile crowd, unlike Trump. Credibility in our institutions with government, media, and academia should be a clear sign that people are fed up with bullshit coming out from there. I don't think grifters like Trump, Elon, Theil, or Bill Ackman will change anything much. They're savvy enough to identify and exploit institutional weaknesses, but none of those traits are entirely applicable towards genuine reform or cultural change. Among all of them, Elon seems more committed towards a fail fast philo, but that's not how governments work. This is one of those things I'll gladly eat crow for being wrong, but they all personally benefit more for doing a **** job than trying to enact a 10th of the reforms they promise. Media and academia seem to still be in full denial. Maybe academia needs for funding to totally dry up before they stop making up sweet and high sounding things that don't provide any actionable, reproducable or measurable policy goals. It's a shitshow where editorial boards and dem leadership should be twice as skeptical in rejecting these ideas for consumption than presenting them as new truths. I.E something like social justice reform as "real" Justice reform by decriminalizing all drugs (read into Oregon's disaster) or reducing prison sentences to felonies as a "progressive idea" when these clowns have no clue to how it improves society AND overall safety other than the lie by omission that it reduces state budgets with reduced prison costs. If liberals want to win back messaging and allow voters to feel good about trying their ideas, then they need to be accountable with predicted goals and results when trying these ideas. That means being wrong a lot and becoming more efficient and better at finding good/accurate results. It also means not having other orgs cover up ****ups. Otherwise, all they do is nag, preach, and take away freedoms that scummy lib leadership still enjoy (newsom during covid lockdowns)
