Jabari has been shooting 48% 3ps last 6 games, and he is only taking 27 shots in these games. No, he and Dillion are not the problems now. The problems are those 2 that have been taking lots of 3ps and making so less of it.
He's progressing at the speed of light. Just need him to convert those drives into layups and not kick outs to the brick fam
That NOAH tracking software can tell you why you are missing, but are the players humble enough to take the criticism and hunger to get better? Use the stats and film. They don’t lie. It takes tenacity and sweat to improve as a shooter.
I can see Jabari developing into a MPJ kind of shooter/player over time. Jalen just needs to go, he is useless on offense when the opposing team has a rim protector and he can't hit threes. We should be packaging Jalen/Cam and maybe another player + picks to get consistent half court offense. Then this team will be set.
Amen doesn't have a tight enough handle and enough shooting yet to be a go to player in half court clutch time offensive sets. Right now, sadly the best players for that are Jalen who is super streaky and FVV who keeps making bone headed plays you don't expect from a vet. Now if you your thought is to trade Jalen and force Amen into that role to help him progress faster, sure. Otherwise, it is probably a year early for that trade.
Argue semantics if you like, you know what I meant. Cam is where he belongs, and it isn't Toyota Center. Reed is afraid to shoot. Garrison Mathews sucked big donkey butts. Our high average shooters have been terrible. Our volume shooters have been worse. There's exactly one player who has made a significant stride in the way of range and it's Amen Thompson. Big fan but he's still not quite someone you want firing away. 5 games in 7 days is fun for me because I enjoy watching them play but is never going to lend itself to a hot streak of range shooting. As far as what they can do to turn the ship around... they can start making their dang shots. People hate it when coach says it but it doesn't make it false. I don't really want to do the leg work, but save Amen, eye test says pretty much everyone on this team is shooting either below career numbers or below last season on the Rockets.
A good start would be to not have Jalen jacking up 10 3-pt attempts per game. Why is it controversial to tell it like it is: he’s a bad 3-pt shooter. Rein him in please; it’s hurting the team. the other thing would be to actually acquire some good 3 pt shooters.
The arena has depth perception problems. Someone from the org needs to look into the lighting and if that causes it. But then again, opponents shoot 3s withou issues. idk *shrug*
