I guess we'll see, I don't think Slowik returns. Demeco might want him to out of pride and relationship but Caserio is not playing around. I have faith in Caserio that he's going to make those decisions, Caserio DGAF, if you're not cutting it, you're gone. We've seen that the pass few years with how cutthroat he has been with the coaching staff. I think he sees what's going on and he's evaluating and unless Slowik magically decides to call the game differently I don't see Caserio sticking with him. He sees these 2nd half stats the same as we do. As for Demeco, I think the defense is there pretty much. They create a crap ton of TOs and make huge plays, they give up plays for sure, every defense does though and sometimes that's not on the coach. That TE TD was not on the coach, the LBs bit on the fake, if they had not, the TE is covered and that never happens. I do blame Demeco for not covering Ridley, but he fixed that mistake and put Stingley on him, Demeco is actually adjusting to the game, and had the offense scored ONE TD in the 2nd half they win the game. But honestly I get the anger but I'm not ready to just turn over the entire organization because of a bad lost to a divisional team. The Redskins just loss to the Cowboys. The Steelers lost to the Browns. This happens. I'm not saying to excuse the loss but I am saying don't just go around turning everything over because of it.
If this team doesn’t fire Slowik in the bye week, then they really are not serious about their chances this year. If you are losing to a 2-8 team at home, the playoffs is not a guarantee at this point either. Ive seen defenses carry teams before, our defense is good, but they are not world beaters to carry this offense, as we saw today.
11 penalities. 2nd the the league (hurray!) two straight weeks a touchdown called back. We just let Will Levis have a career day (even though he threw a pick 6!) We give up more touchdown passes than anyone. The redzone defense is pathetic. How bout those adjustments in the second half of the Jets game. The Lions games. The [every ****ing game]. Yes, the offense deserves blame but this defense does too, what happened today was completely inexcusable. Again, my problem is that I don't understand why people act like the offense isn't Demeco's fault. It's his ****ing fault, he's the head coach. He can't sit back and pretend that he's a defensive coordinator. I mean, that's what he does, but that's completely bullshit from your head football coach. HE'S THE HEAD. COACH. (not screaming at you, just off into the void).
Yep... the ZBS is about blocking in space... not man/power scheme.... we have several players who SHOULD be able to block in space
Remember when @Verbal Christ and @Hemingway argued with me about the Texans being legit SB contenders this year a couple days ago? Y’all still believe?
Getting excited about the Texans winning the division with 8 or 9 wins and playing in a 10am Saturday playoff game.
Ward is so funny. Hard to stay upset at him. "I can't tell you why we keep letting off our foot off the pedal. It starts at the top. We need to start calling people out. We've already had a few of those players meetings. looks like we are going to have another one. (laughs) We have good people in this team."
Defense gave the team plenty of opportunities to score. All those wins of just one scoring games finally caught up to the texans.
The Titans had the 31st ranked offensive line going into week 12, so let's not use our offensive line as an excuse again this week for our bad offensive performance. Even being sacked 8 times Levis played much better under pressure than Stroud. Levis CMP 75% RTG 123.3 Stroud CMP 60% RTG 78.7 Our running game couldn't have been much worse either, which just added to the misery. I can't believe Pollard had 119 yards and Mixon only had 22 yards rushing. Can't Slowik come up with better schemes? The blame on this loss can be shared from the coaches to the offensive line and other players, including Ka'imi Fairbairn. But, to be fair we would probably only have 3 wins this year if it wasn't for Fairbairn's field goals in so many of our early season games. I'm just really disappointed after all the hype after the free agency moves. I still have hope, but it's tough to keep up after losing to Detroit after getting 5 interceptions, and sacking Levis 7 times in the first half just to see him come back out and do what he needed to win the game. It's these type losses that are really disappointing, and gut wrenching. It's those kind of losses that make me want to see the coaches fired, but I hate to just give up the season like that. I still want to hang on to that shred of hope that we get lucky in the playoffs and play our best games yet. But, if we completely choke and don't make the playoffs I want DeMeco and Slowik both fired. At least there were some great moments today, with Pierce's kickoff return, Woods's pick 6, and the combined 5 sacks and 5 QB hits of Hunter and Anderson. Kudos to those guys. They had me cheering and enjoying those moments.
