That’s not true at all. Very few players accomplish that feat. This means 3 things: 1. You never played organized basketball at any level 2. You make several assumptions on players’ abilities especially Matthews 3. You underestimate how difficult it is to actually consistently score in a game. This goes back to the old argument any player can avg 20 or 30 if they’re starting as a num 1 option on a “bad” team. Did Andre Iguodala do this when sixers made him the guy? He never even put up 20 a game in this period much less drop 40. How many 40 pt games Andrew Wiggins put up in 5.5 years with MIN as he was given the keys as the num 1 guy? What about Tyler Herro? He plays starter minutes and a big piece of that team. He couldn’t crack 20 till yr 3. Same with Jaylen Brown. Year 4. How many times they dropped 40? There’s plenty more that never achieved such feats given the opportunity. What you present is a dangerously false narrative backed by nothing but conjecture and assumptions. The ability to score and how they score is special and not everyone has the same ability to score in this league. Maybe against your sorry ass on the playground absolutely, but not in a professional league.
He has been shooting like shi+ no one is disputing this. But how soon have you and these fans forgotten what he did in the first several games and against MIL when he brought us back and gave us a chance to win. If you have not noticed Udoka has reverted back to the old offensive sets and forcing the ball to FVV and Sengun or Amen. Green has been once again scratched from initiating offense or having the ball in his hand. When he does have the ball its off a DHO coming from the corner which does nothing to defenses as they camp in the paint. Much of why he stinks now is opportunity and how he’s utilized. But also much like last year he has become more hesitant and less aggressive settling for long 2s and 3s since Udoka has left him in the corner for these sets. Just odd circumstances.
Curry’s 3 pt% dropped 4 yrs in a row after 18-19 season. Was he getting worse? Fans are so fixated on 3 pt % or stats instead of the overall impact of the player.
It’s interesting. Not sure what’s going on since the 7th game of the season. The way they play is different using the same old JG in the corner sets. It’s mind boggling how he’s used. Doesn’t help his shooting is garbage now. But I believe not being part of the main action and getting touches results in this passive and hesitant Green again. Don’t get why Udoka has reverted to these old 2 man sets with Green looking for baseline cut or lob or DHO from high post. The sets don’t work takes too long and offense stalls. It’s mind boggling as the same exact thỉng happened a year ago
Another ignorant take. And you are basing this off 9-10 games this year? He willed this team to wins in several games and put us in a position to win the MIL game. All the hate is ignorant and unwarranted. As i mentioned before Udoka has reverted to this using the same sets as last year since game 7 this year and not featuring Green again. This doesn’t excuse him for poor shooting but there’s nuances other than the ignorant and lazy assessment “he sucks” argument with no analysis
Hopefully he doesnt get much worse than he already is. Draft day or off season trade should absolutely be on the table.
What’s your overall take on Jalen Green? He’s been good in a couple games sure, but he’s also shot us out of a couple games. We are at a great record and to me are definitely surpassing expectation so far this season, with a lot of interesting pieces on our roster. where do you think Jalen Green fits and what is his role?
Again, I don’t understand how he has not improved his shooting understanding that if he does, he takes an easy leap. How has that not come around?
