But it barely changes. Jokic is someone who is inconsistent as a 3 pt shooter, he can go up or down 7-8%. Jalen is very consistent, 33-34%
Don't worry, he likely has some great games due. Then the usual suspects will rush to crow about how we're ignoring his "obvious" improvement. He is who he is, he's consistently been the same inconsistent player. Defensive effort is marginally improved. His 3 ball has actually been remarkably consistent year to year. I've felt for a while we could simply remove him and spread those shots around and lose little if any offense, maybe get better.
He's been consistently a very mediocre player who has shown none of the significant improvements that were expected of him when he was drafted. He wasn't a good shooter and still isn't. He didn't have an offensive bag then and doesn't have one. He wasn't a good decision maker then and isn't a good decision maker still. He's athletic but has one speed. Time to accept we've been fooled by hype, by his stans, by the publicity machine who values aura over actual skills.
We'd be a much better team if we had a nice steady player that gives us 14 to 18 points each game with solid shooting splits (44/37). Jalen is too inconsistent to have him putting up the most shots for the team. He is a team high 17 FGA a game, ahead of Sengun at 15 FGA.
Herro, Lavine, Booker, Simons. Surely can get one of these with Green and/or Jabari and picks if necessary.
It's wild to think that just two years ago Stone was trying to sell us on the KPJ/Green backcourt being our future
The fact that Green still isn't better than 21-22 KPJ is crazy to me. KPJ is actually the more talented of the two.
I don't think you can actually say he's mediocre. He's either really good or really bad. There isn't really anything in between with him.
Any NBA player can go on hot streaks. I'm not buying any of his streaks anymore. Our perception of his last post-ASB run was also mostly colored by an unsustainable hot shooting streak, and was mostly again tanking teams. I think it's clear that there's no version of that JG that you can stretch out to a whole season, he's bad 80% of the time.
Hey jalen’s shooting is more “consistent” than jokic’s lol. Jokic fluctuates a lot if you look at his 3pt %, jalen is always equally bad
I 100% agree with you. I just don't think you can call him mediocre. 1 in 10 games he's awesome 9 out of 10 games he trash.
I always refused to partake in low BBall IQ takes. Basketball is a very easy game. At its very core, for every possession on offense everyone is trying to get to their best spot possible and you try to get the ball to the player to the guy who has the highest expected score. In defense you are trying to prevent the opposing team from doing that. That simple. I always thought it's either laziness, lack of focus, a stubborn refusal to play the game besides a certain way, wanting to be the #1 guy and having the spotlight and not caring at all beyond that, etc etc - but I'm legit starting to believe he really can't process the game even at that simplistic level.
Yeah he played terrible but he should've been in the game at the end. I'm sure he'd do a much better job than Fred.
The NBA has the most talented players in the world. Almost every single guard is capable of scoring 40 points on a given night, so what separates the good guards from the bad ones is their level of consistency. Stop being impressed by his once-in-a-blue-moon good performances. Garrison Matthews could score 45 points with a long leash because he is a good shooter. I don't the obsession with terms such vertical, aura, bucket like they mean nothing. There are clever, consistent, hardworking, team players and the others. The ones who don't do their best on defense, lazy, streaky/inconsistent. Stop making up bullshit words and try to paint **** players as good players. It will never work never did. **** will always smell and people will eventually flush it.
