DD, since you think Green will get traded, do you think his bloated $36 mil per extension makes him more tradeable or less tradeable?
I think we trade him this summer in a bigger deal - I think in the end, Jalen just doesn't fit here with Ime and he is OK here, but I believe for him to BUST OUT or be the BEST he can be, he needs a team that runs and guns.......and probably doesn't play much defense. So, I believe the Rox will use his contract and better their team. IMHO, for instance, if we traded Green for Zack Lavine and a Chi FRP, - it would make us a better team, and it would give Chicago a way out of Lavine's contract - and give them a developing young player - and we get a pick, something like that, is what I think might happen. DD
To be fair you didn’t answer the question. Lavine is a negative asset on that contract. He’s got two more years at $47 mil after this one. I don’t think that helps our team.
LaVine does not by himself make us contenders, BUT he fits with this team as an outside shooter, and 2ndary creator. He shoots 51% FG overall and 41% from 3.....that would be a major upgrade to this team if we don't have to give up anything more than Green. And Aruba - I don't think Green's contract has any negative affect on him being traded. DD
I guess we’ll see on the Jalen contract. The Lavine idea is not totally crazy since it is only 2 more yrs at crazy money and he is a shooter. But doesn’t feel like an Ime guy to me, injury concerns, and defensive liability. I think it would have to be a fully unprotected pick from Chicago to seriously consider it. As you know, Chicago has expressed interest in Jalen in the past.
There is no reason for the Rockets to trade Cam specifically because they would get close to nothing in return. He's not going anywhere.
1-21 Was a 36% 3P shooter last season. It's so strange. I'm not sure if you can even call that a slump.
It's rare for someone to regress like that going into his second year. I think he only made like 2 three-pointers all season. I really hope he regains his touch. He is one of my favorite Rockets. He can be very impactful at times
Last 19 games of last season he was a 30.7% 3 pt. shooter. In the G-League Cam's shooting 37.8% in 5 games on 7.4 attempts per game. This is about what he shot in the G-League on 10+ attempts per game last season. I don't know if that's a good sign or not, though, since I haven't watched his G-League games.
Lavine has one of the worst contracts in the league. This is one of your worst ideas. I get it we need shooters, but freaking Levine, get real.
I don't care about the money if it makes the team better, and Lavine does that, and we get a FRP because of that contract. I am playing chess, while you are playing checkers. DD
Yep, There’s a reason teams aren’t knocking at Chicago’s door for his services. He’s not worth that contract
He's not worth the contract but this is today's NBA. He is a better offensive player than Jalen Green right now. Also with the extensions of Jalen & Alphren the Rockets aren't going to have much money for free agency anyway. If the Rockets could some how add Lavine this season before the deadline the sky is the limit for this team. I would throw all of our expiring contracts (Adams, Uncle Jeff, Tate, Landale) for Lavine while also obtaining an unprotected 1st from Chicago. Although for this to work it would probably have to be a multi-team trade. If the Rockets are serious about contending this is the move that needs to be made. The Rockets are a competent shooting guard away from making a deep playoff run. I cannot think of a better SG that is available on the market. As an added bonus they would not have to give any draft picks while adding pick(s) to their trade assets.
