I am the biggest Jalen stan there is but there’s nothing wrong with saying that he’s really struggled with shooting since his super hot start (in which I boldly proclaimed that the changes in his mechanics signaled better shooting for the foreseeable future lol) He’s not hurting the team, but we should all agree that if he was more efficient he’d definitely help the team more. I like his effort, I like his play down the stretch in several of our close games, but I want Jalen to be a Jamal Murray, not an OJ Mayo—though he’s definitely already a more all-around player than Mayo ever was. When I saw the first couple possessions in the third not running through him, my first thought was “oh **** he’s gonna go cold” and he proved me right, sadly. That is not ok for me—Jalen has got to be able to be effective when other players get hot, and for much of his career he hasn’t been able to do that
There is nothing wrong with being a fan but to be emotionally attached to him and feel anger towards others who don't feel the same or are not really Jalen supporters, that is the point where the beef happens. But you are a level headed guy, so I am positive you are a sensible and not sensitive guy. Hey, if he becomes a superstar, he saves me a lot of posts.....that is not a bad thing.....some of those guys always deem the worst from posters who do not support Jalen.
10 3PA. Sigh. Unsurprisingly disappointing game from Jalen. He should just take less overall shots and be far more selective right now, let his teammates carry him instead of taking these FOMO shots.
Yeah. His better start to year 4 has quickly been erased from memory. I just cannot wait until he is not on this team anymore. Speaks volumes he's the only starter in during the fourth quarter when every other started is riding the pine since the third quarter, during blow outs. The second time in the past few games that's happened. Could only shake my head when the Blazers had an unhindered drive to the key through the perimeter (non existent) defense, and Sengun challenged as he's meant to - but fouled. Jalen quickly turned around and had a go at him - the guy who is UNIVERSES better defensively than Jalen himself. In the next few Blazers possessions they abused Jalen on the perimeter forcing the rest of the rockets to scramble to cover up Jalen's pathetic effort - resulting in an easy Blazers' 3. Quickly followed by a Blazer bodying Jalen for an easy bucket and foul. No one dare remind Jalen of his woeful defense there. In no Marvel Multiverse should Jalen EVER have more shots than the teams best player. Yet we continue to see it even though the teams best player often is much more efficient. Yet here we are in year 4, gone are the days of this organisation having to force Jalen to show something to justify his high draft pick. No, now this organisation is having to force Jalen to show something to justify a $100,000,000 contract. There are no words.
This feels like a fair comparison. For a couple of years now, I've felt Jalen fits more as a 6th man--an excellent energy scorer off the bench, but not the guy running the offense with the starting five. And I still think that's where he fits best. For this team, though, he and Fred are still the two guys you trust the most to generate offense as lead guards in isolation, which is important for any team in 2024 to have. You just wish he was more efficient offensively, and we've seen that in stretches, like for that wonderful March last year or his first handful of games this season. Hell, I don't even need him to get close to his March numbers last year. Just shoot 35% from 3, 42% from the floor and get to the free throw line 1-2 more times per game, and I'd be thrilled with that. That version of Jalen is a 22-23 point scorer on a nightly basis, and no one is questioning if he's worth the contract he just signed. But he's just so frustrating to watch at times and his first half vs. second half performance last night is such a good example of that. First half Jalen is an All-Star. Second half Jalen is a G-Leaguer looking to play in Europe or China next season. Can we just get somewhere in the middle and get some more consistency, please?

I have seen posters make fun of his avatar. Jalen has been playing solid defense from what I can tell many times this season. Homie expects players to never be scored on in the nba. there was a play last night in the first half where Tari did not close out on a 3 point shooter. The next day I am on here saying it was lazy of him etc. I know it’s not the same because Tari is likely going to be at a minimum top 15 defender this season. Jalen has been doing just fine on defense though. Proud of the guy.
I’m one of those posters. Criticize his offensive inefficiency all you want — Jalen’s been solid on defense. His 106.5 defensive rating is really good.
was at the game last night and I thought Jalen was playing well on offense…that’s what it seemed like in the moment at least checked the box score this morning, and he still somehow managed to be inefficient and go 6-17 at least the team is still winning despite the high volume inefficiency his agent saved him this past offseason
Put him on the Charlotte (average defenses) and he can still average those numbers, hats off to him. Coaches that are not tough on his ass all day.
My only criticism is he has fallen in love with that three, and it's hurting his FT attempts. Should be getting 6 freebies instead of 3.5. Add those 3 points and cut out 3 stepback threes. Jalen all of the sudden becomes more efficient With his improved defense. 19 pts on 14.3 fga on 44%Fg

There is a difference in a scorer and a shooter; Kobe, A.I, Jalen and Morant are scorers and Murray and Booker are shooters. Jalen does well with the ball in his hands but I think we need a shooter at the SF or PF positions. I think its evident when Brooks and Jabari are hitting their shots from the 3pt line. The team is special.
If he can't get to Jamal Murray level we in trouble. Cuz Jamal Murray isn't even good. He got hot for like 2 playoffs runs and is literally being carried by the best player in the world. I'm shocked Jokic hasn't demanded a trade. He's the best player in the nba by far and if you compare his supporting cast to any of the greats in history it's not even fair. That dude should have multiple titles but he's surrounded by a lottery team.
