Why are people comparing Green to Sheppard? It makes no sense. One is a #1 option and the other is learning how to play in the NBA. There’s no comparison.

I'm not sure you know what a net rating is.... or what it says. Jalen's is -5 FVV is +15 Brooks is +1 Jabari is +15 somehow Sengun is +18 Amen is +16 Tari is +26 Net rating is not plus minus or on-off.
They are built around a 40 year old and an injury prone center with a bunch of misfits around them. The fact that Knecht is getting minutes there is an indictment on the Lakers not a compliment to Knecht. Same with McCain in Philly. Dalton would get about as much run here as Jack McVeigh is getting. Similar players.
Steve Nash shot 42.3% during his rookie year and averaged 3.3 points in 10.5 minutes. Thus far Reed is shooting 40.3% and averaging 3.9 points in 12.2 minutes. Rookie Reed is 2 years younger than rookie Nash was. I'm not saying that Reed is Steve Nash. I'm saying that we don't know what Reed is and we need to give him time to find out.
Which is part of the problem. If he got a layup or a few FT's to go down, it may help him find his rhythm from 3 pt instead of just shooting cold. As much as people get him on him for the shooting, he was playing many more minutes to get that feel at Kentucky. On top of adjusting to the speed, length, pace, and athleticism of NBA players, that is making it hard for him to adjust with spot minutes with the back ups who are basically playing a pick-up read/react offensive game. Rookies who start off quickly generally already have body/frame/strength for the NBA, some 99% percentile athletic/speed trait, or a lot of experience -- either 3+ years in college or pro Euro ball. Sheppard has none of those things, which is why so many people doubted him as a high lottery pick. He is as much of a project as any of the other Rockets 1st round picks because he has to shore up some of those deficits.
Stuff like this shouldn't even have to be said. People complaining about Reed at this point either simply dont know basketball or didnt want to draft him and now its just about their ego and being right loke anyone gives a ****.
This season the rockets offense is 2 points better with jalen and defense is 10 points worse, so he has a -8 on/off. Rockets have been way better when he has been on the bench
