His shot is getting better as the season progresses...just like Amen, his shot was broke and still broke. So are you saying Amen wasn't a good draft pick?
If Reed got 1/3 the hand holding coddling Jalen Green has he would look like a much different player. We are trying to win games this year and him getting sporadic minutes 15 games in is far too early to make any judgement on him. Apparently there are people still trying to judge what Jalen will become and this is year 4 so I think judging Shepard 15 games in 180 mins of gameplay might be a bit too much.
So 30% from 3 is "almost the same" as 36%? That's on top of the fact that Sheppard has been given almost no opportunity while Castle has been given all the opportunity in the world.

It would be interesting to chart people’s perceptions of him (or any other player) over time. Yes, it’s early, but we all have gut feelings. Espress them. My gut tells me he’s just nervous and knows his place on this team right now. He’s determined not to make a mistake in his limited minutes and so he doesn’t take shots and doesn’t take risky chances on the dribble. As of today, I think his floor is JJ Reddick. I am not sure he ever becomes an All-Star, but he’ll be good enough to make an impact on a contending team in the future.

The problem has never been about what type of player Reed is. It was always about that type of player not being worth a top 3 pick. Without his shot he is a second round pick. Maybe.

In my opinion, there are other players who were drafted after Reed who are going to have better careers based on how their game is translated to the NBA level.
