It’s no secret he promoted this game left and right, knowing it would never be done. It’s just crazy to steal from families, orphans and those most in need just from the allure of a video game

some of these people don’t have hot meals, but the star citizen mafia want to eat caviar and purchase their Utah Jazz season tickets regardless of the cost @DaDakota

That’s a pretty shitty accusation to throw at someone on a hunch.

Some people got nothing to do at 11pm on a Monday

But I get it, it's hard not to think about DD and his roles in our free time.

No one has ever accused DD of being a star citizen.

It's like completely bizzaro world version, call him Nijjy Dumhex, the complete opposite of Jimmy Hendrix: not chill, not entertaining.

Hah, didn't even see this - as the op has shown so little class I have him on ignore.

Re: Star Citizen, I am one of the founders, started the company but left it 10 years ago, and have nothing to do with it other than being a fan and wanting to see it finished.

I contend that my friend Chris is either going to go down as one of the greatest game makers of all time by ignoring the trolls like the Op who think they know what is happening when they really have no clue, or as a guy that messed around in his playbox too long and never finished the game, and kills crowd funding forever.

I have seen enough game play from SQ42 to remain positive though, so hopeful, but again - left 10 years ago.

Good thread, positive contribution to the site.

Here is over an hour of the upcoming Sq42 game. I hadn't been paying attention and thought I would watch 5 mins or so of it, and was blown away - watched all 1hr 15 mins thinking yep, remain hopeful.

700m is a lot of money, but not a scam amount over 12 years.

OP makes it sound like it's a crypto game.

I don't know anything about this, but in general, after some consideration, I think one should leave DD alone about his business.

I mentioned something once, and I shouldn't have. It is hard from the outside to judge who is right or wrong about anything, and dragging someone's life outside the board through the mud here just because that person decided to disclose his real identity shouldn't be fair game.

Mock his DD persona all you want, but don't cross the line towards the real life person, just because you are annoyed with their online persona.

I do not play star ship games but his companies have done pretty well......who cares if couple titles are not making it to the open market.

That is the risk of the entertainment business which gaming is part of.

I don't know if this is a serious thread, but I can repeat some things I said in another thread.

Star Citizen is often called a scam, but I really think it is more of a horribly mismanaged project than a scam. Maybe with a bit of shady exploitation stuff to pump up funding numbers, but that's still primarily motivated to push development forward. People can decide if that makes it better or worse.

As for DD specifically, yeah as he mentioned he left the project long ago (and early on in the process). I'm guessing most of the problems I have with the project come from folks like Chris Roberts (even if I like his ambition), and I doubt DD is really much to "blame" for the current state of affairs. If anything, I think DD helped kickstart the pretty nice community around the game.

And I'm usually happy to criticize DD haha. At least based on his BBS posts. Don't really know him personally, but he seems like a great guy, and yeah none of this should reflect negatively on him. Doubt this was a serious thread to begin with, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents as a Star Citizen backer/follower.

I have no idea who DD is in real life. The poster named DD self disclosed his involvement with the game (which according to many is scamming folks), I have asked a question regarding DD as such. Pretty cut and dry

he says he’s been gone for a while (doesn’t explain him still talking about it non-stop) so I think that answers the question regarding his involvement

I have no idea why so many people are white knighting a genuine question that the poster in question self volunteer and regularly talks about.
