If playing as a team is the whole point and the team is playing well, why are you beating the "Segun is under utilized" drum above?
Sengun is a borderline superstar.. He crashes all stats in Rockets history from the day He started to play for Rockets. Last one, youngest player to achieve back to back tripple doubles.and He does this only in 25 minutes. If he was egoist, we were talking about 30 points at least, 30/15/15 at least stats last night for him.. What a player. I like all our group but with Sengun centred offense, it is clear that this will take to us play off. 1.Sengun 2.Fred 3.Jalen 4.Jabari This is our offensive hierarchy and this should be, if we want to carry on winning...
Because our System's brain is Sengun, because of his offensive creativity and passing skills, we win..of course with total team effort.but centre is Sengun and we win. Is it really.hard to understand?
That’s a lot of words to basically say what everyone else is saying — Sengun should be used more as a hub on the elbow. This opens up the offense and allows everyone to get involved. Seriously, what are you even disagreeing with here? And, a little advice — worry about yourself. Why do you care how others view players?
Because if something works very well, why not do more of it? I posted the stats, not sure if you saw them. He is 108th in the NBA in minutes, 58th in touches, 35th in usage, 73rd in possessions, but despite that, no. 4 in net rating and no. 5 in PIE (player impact estimate), no. 11 in PER, no. 2 in EWA and VA (Hollinger - https://www.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/sort/VORPe). I am by no means complaining about where we are as a team, and Ime might well have a plan to not peak yet, focus on development, try different stuff, etc., but the data seems pretty clear that we are doing well when he is on the floor and the ball goes through his hands, why not give him a few more minutes and touches, that's all. My opinion is that the whole team would benefit from that, which is always the goal.
Lets teach Jalen how to dribble and shoot consistently at first. We all like Jalen and he is our player. But cmon Sengun is off the limits becoming a NBA top force player, with defensive leap, his name is already next to other superstars. Jalen...For Jalen.. This team needs him...He is a great prospect..Jalen and Sengun can complement.each other. But there is no way with his inconsistency, Jalen can be the main guy in this guy. Sad but true
I didn't see this post until it got quoted and I clicked on "show content" or whatever. Sounds like the Rockets doing well with Sengun being a driving force behind that makes some people angrier and more bitter, rather than happy. Shame.
I was looking at the accumulated stats from all the 2021 draft picks on Bballreference. Top 3 in all the traditional stats. No.1 in all the Nerd stats. He didn't even start his rookie year. That's the type of leap you want. Green top in scoring Jabari top 6, in his class. Amen top 3. So much room for growth for those 2.
Besides all these comments. Anyone can be the rocket’s franchise player. I’m not gonna name everyone but we all know.
The team is playing well and would play even better if they used Sengun more as the primary offensive hub. This isn’t a difficult concept.
Exactly, we win , we crash stats, dominate and these comments. And they call themselves Rockets fan? Funny..
Because I don't particularly care for fans instructing other fans on how to be a fan. Just shut up and let people cheer how they wish.
To be fair, Harden does create a lot of good shots for his teammates. The problem with that offense is that in the playoffs, teams would double team Harden right after he passed mid court, forcing him to give up the ball. And his teammates didn't know what to do as the "system" had no other options besides Harden's facilitating.
...because if the team is doing well and scoring well, why change anything? It's weird that the team is doing well so the message from you and @AroundTheWorld is "OF COURSE WE NEED MORE SENGUN TOUCHES BECAUSE WE ARE DOING WELL" or "we need MORE Senhub" which you claim is about sharing the ball around the team but in the same breath you claim that also means we need more Sengun's usage. It's like you guys are gaslighting the rest of us for asking really basic questions like why Sengun needs more touches if the team is playing well in the first place? "This isn't that difficult of a concept."
This right there might actually be a good reason that Ime doesn't always go full Senhub. He wants our offense to have many different "go to" options., and not be fully dependent on one player (whoever that is). That would make sense to me.
