Jalen has been great this year. Offense started out hot to begin the year, now cooled off but most impressively his defense has been excellent throughout

Let me also say, a couple of games where he struggled, he still made huge 4th quarter buckets to ice the game

 

just hope he can increase his 3pt percentage above 35%, and his overall FG to above 40%

Cam doesn’t play defense and is selfish on offense. Those kinds of players will never fit in Udoka’s system and rightfully so.

Udoka is drawing a line in the sand. If Cam won’t play team ball he’ll never get off the bench.

Watching this game now one thing I don't like is a lot of the offensive sets result in a Middy.

Middies are the worst shot in basketball they should be the last option in our offense when all else fails. Like when Sengun does a DHA and no opening is created ok he takes that shotput mid range. Instead both Bari and Jalen do some PnRs and then take a middie lol. Not surprisingly they clank almost every middie they take.

We dont have demar derozan or KD we have a bunch of mid range clankers on the team. In fact the reason Jalen TS% is so low is because he keeps taking these mid range shots and clanking them. I think Sengun is the only one with a respectable mid range shot on this team. His flamingo should be the only one allowed to take middies.

 

Billy Donovan should be better than Silas but he is not a good coach rn.......he coached the Thunder in the Bubble and went 7 against Harden.

He lost the players.

 

Have I in the past compared Jalen to Corey Brewer at times? Maybe. But credit where credit is due, I am happy with the player he's showing us right now. He finally understands that offense isn't the only thing he can contribute and that he can use that freakish athleticism on the defensive side of the ball too. He only scored 18 points last night, but I thought he had a phenomenal game. I don't know if it's Ime, I don't know if it's becoming a dad, I don't know if this was just how he would have naturally progressed all along, but whatever it is I love it.

 

Fred is passable. Reed is automatic. Amen is getting there. If all you have is drives and 3s you get real easy to defend in the playoffs. Also the middie helps shred zone defenses. Once Reed and Amen get "there" we are really going to be something. And we're already 10-4.

Why are the bux 4-9?

They're missing Middleton, but that shouldn't make them this bad. If you look at their record, their 4 wins have come against the Sixers, Jazz, Raptors, and Pistons(in OT). They really struggle against quality competition.

 

End of last year +0. This year, already +6 wins. Rockets are on track to have the +15 wins above last year's record that I predicted. Hell, may hit +19 wins again with the way they are playing.

 

I dont mind middies but only for players who actually have a talent for them like Sengun for example who has middies in the 40-50%. Jalen and Jabari have the percentage in the teens they should be banned from taking middies.
