Maybe this will convince him to let it fly? Man, if he starts getting modern-NBA-level aggressive as a shooter, and guys start having to crowd him when he's 5 feet above the three point line, Amen's going to have so much running room through the paint.
What was that you said to me? Learn to enjoy the win. Learn some message board etiquette you jackass.
I think you forgot to count the 4 misses last game against the Clippers. He is 37% now. But yeah, it's funny how some people call him "not a good shooter" after just a few games. With such a small sample size, one game can swing a lot.
Indeed, but a Reed block isn't what most people normally think of as a block. They are scored as blocks but are closer to steals/strips and are a result of his thieving hands on defense.
It's kind of frustrating watching him play, he's clearly extremely cognizant about not hurting the team and I think that's effecting his shooting as well. Because of that he does generally do a good job of not hurting the team, but he also kind of vanishes. Ultimately my opinion has remained the same as it was coming into the season. He's an undersized 20 year old who needs to have great court awareness to succeed (something that only truly comes with game reps), this is a glorified redshirt year. Anything he's able to give this team towards wins is a bonus, so merely staying in Udoka's rotation all year is a win in my book. You don't draft a guy in the top 5 to help the team the most in their rookie season, you draft them because you think they will be the best player 5 years in.
One footnote about Reed's percentage from 3: In previous games, he's had to shoot from some passes that were well off center or too low. I'm not gonna get on his case for missing when the underlying problem was that the guy throwing the pass wasn't Reed Sheppard.
You Reeders are kidding right? One good game out of 10+ and all of sudden he's back? Y'all need to stop. Wait until he strings a few games like that back to back and then start clowning. Not after one good game. You're embarrassing yourselves.
Reed doesnt need to go to the gleague. Ive got no issue if thats what they do, but I dont see the gleague being a stepping stone for him to get better at helping the Rockets. His role in the gleague would be completely different than it is here. What he needs is exactly what hes been getting-- which is consistent playing time here to prove himself and carve out his niche with the guys who've already earned some stripes. This year, hes almost never going to be on the court with a bunch of guys that are going to defer to him. So he needs to get more comfortable and learn how to pick and choose his spots with the big club. The more he plays with them the more he'll earn their trust and the more hell understand how he fits within the team.
Which should be seen as a good thing, as they almost always result in a change of possession whereas traditional blocks often don't.
