Maybe the era of superstars is ending for now. Even from that list...is Lebron still a true superstar? I think a superstar is someone that's playing at a level that you would consider in the conversation for one of the best of their position. I don't think Tatum is there and probably never will be considered one of the best SFs ever (but maybe he continues to grow and surprises me). I think this an especially weak era of the NBA (from a top end talent perspective) which is why these old guys are still able to hang around and be considered stars. This combined with the more restrictive cap may also open the door for an era of more complete teams winning.
I'm a little surprised at the record so far ..... didn't think they'd play ~.715 out of the gate. That equates to 58.55 wins over 82. That's gonna be hard to sustain. That's probably over ambitious .... I won't put a number on it, I'll just say that I want to see them finish in the top 6 and IN the playoffs & not have to screw around with the play in mess. Get to the post season and get some experience in that situation & get a chance to see who steps up and who fades under the bright lights.
Rockets are 28-16 in their last 44 (basically, since things started to click for Amen). A 52 win pace despite not having Sengun and Tari for a lot of them. This number is a little cherrypicked as the Rockets were horrible without Tari before Amen stepped up last season. I've been a little worried that Amen and Tari's offensive rebounding numbers wouldn't be as good individually when they play together. I was also worried about fit with Amen and Sengun from a shooting standpoint. So far, Amen and Tari OREB% hasn't been affected too much when they play together. With as bad as the shooting has been, the offensive rebounding has been enough to make the offense above average so far. Right now, I'm guessing the Rockets are in the 50-57 win range at the end of the season without major injuries. I think the Rockets depth will allow them to handle minor injuries better than most of the teams and there are quite a few injuries around the NBA right now which should allow the Rockets to bank a lot of wins.
