    Biggest problem in this country.

Now there are some manipulators that are only on the right because they are greedy, but by and large we are a country that has convinced the working class to vote against their own interests.

We need unions back in a big way.

California and New Mexico usually score pretty badly in test/educations rankings while Utah and Florida score pretty well. Maybe this could be correlative and not causative:

I think a fair number of people vote against their interest in this country over cultural divisions and trends.

Maybe it would be best to say the POOR are voting against their interests, instead?

The irony of this thread shows how delusional you are. Now you're popping off that because Massachusetts is regarded as a highly "educated" state that their views (and how they vote) are correct and that these poor "uneducated" Red states don't know how to vote because they're dumb.

You go on and on spewing that people who vote/support Trump are "racists". It's ALL over this forum. How ironic that the state of Massachusetts (specifically the city/region of Boston where the majority of these colleges are located) is widely known as the most "racist" in the country.

    "Educated" and yet "racists".

IMHO you are delusional. Or is "widely known" just a "clever" way of saying that stupid racists believe this?

I don't remember many lynchings happening in the Boston area.

No they are regarded as having better schools because they have better test scores, etc. I know 4 families who moved from Arizona. Two moved to upstate New York, where they were from. Two moved to MA. All four families had their kids held back a grade level because the schools in AZ suck. My ex boss who now works in a separate department is from MA . He moved to TX for a promotion within the company. He moved back to MA 2 years ago, because he was able to go back to his original office. His two girls, who were excelling in Texas schools, now have to have tutors because MA schools are far ahead of where they were in Texas.

One of these days I hope that a majority of Americans elect Pete Buttigieg as President of the United States.
    Great find, @DaDakota.

The first openly gay person confirmed to serve in a president’s Cabinet, Secretary Buttigieg previously served two terms as mayor of his hometown, South Bend, Indiana, where he worked across the aisle to transform the city’s future. Household income grew, poverty fell, and unemployment was cut in half. His work on transportation as mayor was nationally recognized, including an award for innovative streetscape design from the U.S. Department of Transportation where he now serves.

He also served for seven years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, taking a leave of absence from the mayor’s office for a deployment to Afghanistan in 2014.

The son of Joseph Buttigieg, who immigrated to the United States from Malta, and Jennifer Anne Montgomery, a fifth-generation Hoosier, Secretary Buttigieg is a graduate of Harvard University and Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar and completed a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics. He lives with his husband Chasten, their two children, Gus and Penelope, and their dog.

OP acting like misinformation and poverty is a new trend. When in fact there have never been more ways to disprove misinformation for those who want to do their own research and the average person in the United States is doing exponentially better than 50 years ago.

The education system is failing for two major reasons. 1) Lack of discipline from parents. Dumping kids off and leaving teachers to be baby sitters is not a good solution. Parents generally are not very active in their children's education. Lazy ass Gen X'ers and Millennials. 2) The education system has become propaganda machines. Instead of focusing on STEM, sports and regional ideology are placed on a much higher priority than they should be. No need to blame on side or the other - both are complicit.

The education system needs a massive overhaul. Its outdated and antiquated. ChatGPT can effectively replace most teachers.

The fact that more people making less than a 100k voted for Republicans made no sense since they really don't pay much in taxes and get most of the benefits like Medicaid Medicare, healthcare assistance etc.

But you can also look at those voters wondering what the department of education is doing for them.

    Solutions to these two problems:

    1. Communism. Both parents have to work now due to capitalist markets significantly increasing the cost of living compared to decades ago. Parents have simply less time to pay attention to their kids.

    2. The solution to this problem is students entering any STEM undergrad program must take classes that unsilt then and remind them that their field of study isn't the only valuable field of study that exists. We need to add humility and do who checks on STEM perverts(people who aren't even that great in math and science like you but still out down any other Enfield of study outside STEM)
