I'm pretty surprised how he's regressed so much with shot. His college videos looked pure. Only think I can think of is the increased weightlifting and trying to add bulk may be throwing him off. Disappointing for sure.
I wish Jabari would learn from Robert Horry. Watch the Clutch City Documentary. Robert Horry would've been traded to Detroit because Robert Horry was scared to shoot. The trade was voided because Sean Elliot kidney failed his medical. Robert Horry came back to the Rockets got angry and motivated basically said - F all of Y'all I'm shooting. Made clutch 3s in the Playoffs and Won 2 Rockets Championships.
Delusional Redish, Rui H, Austin Reaves, LeBron all can play and yet Dalton gets minutes in today's position less basketball
Lakers will be lucky to be a play in team. AD is playing like a legit MVP candidate like he does every season......until he inevitably gets hurt...and Lebron is about to turn 40! Outside of those two, the rest of the guys on that roster are just your average NBA starters at best and more likely rotational guys on the very best rosters. Not saying Dalton isn't a real dude - I believe he's going to be a solid offensive player...but I also agree that his minutes are there out of necessity and to some extent having minutes that overlap with one of the best defenders on the planet right now are obscuring(or not) the very real problems of his defense.
We need Summer League Jabari back, he was a different player. He knew he was the best player on the court and he played with swagger.
I said before the season that I wanted something similar to hockey line changes. Constant fresh players giving their all for 6 or 7 minutes and then a shift change. Other teams took that scheme and are running with it. Celtics, Thunder, Pacers, Warriors all play as such. Many don't want that because it's hard for their fan only player to get All Star stats as everyone is contributing, with quick pace, lightning speed, swarm everywhere type play. To that I say, teams running and gunning often are some of the best teams and are rewarded with an All Star or two. They also tend to play 10 to 13 players. Warriors and Thunder played us that way. __________________ In 22/23 draft: I would have traded back with Magic for their two picks. Gone after: Cam Whitmore, Jarace Walker, Jaime Jaquez, Dereck Lively Would not have Amen Thompson In 23/24 draft: I would have traded back with Spurs for their two picks. Gone after: Devin Carter, Dalton Knecht, Edey, Kel'el Ware. Would not have Reed Sheppard My team would look something like: Jalen Green Cam Whitmore (lasted to 20's, I definitely would have gone 1st pick with him) Eason Jabari Sengun and 3 of: Jaime Jaquez, Jarace Walker, Dereck Lively, Devin Carter, Dalton Knecht, Edey or Kel'el Ware *Devin Carter being a combo guard defensive stalwart that gets Rebs. 3's, Asts. *would not go after Kel'el Ware if I landed Dereck Lively the year before. *I equated Jarace Walker to Robert Williams with a 3-point shot (was 50% last year from 3) *Edey would be on a rookie contract x 4 to 5 years......leverage against Sengun. Best in a couple years stays. Edey much like Marc Gasol are starting off not shooting 3's but can/will as years continue. The rest are wings where I can play Small-Ball and place them in positions 1-4 and sometimes 5. Thunder and Warriors often use Micro-Ball this year. Lineups using multiple points guards. I'm ahead of the curve, have been for years....... league and fans are catching up. Soon you'll understand. Cam Whitmore has been in G-league: (3 games) 24/39 (61.5...FG%) 9/18 (50.0....3P%) 17 Rebs (5.7 per game) 21 points per game 3 Asts per game
For two straight summers, he practiced flexibility to become a. yoga instructor, b. to be able to lick himself. that is how he hurt his back. win win.
I know the league has shifted to 3's and layups, but Jabari's biggest strength has been midrange. I'd like to see him get more looks as if he was Lamarcus Aldridge. Unfortunately, those looks typically only come on offensive rebounds or broken plays due to spacing.
I feel like if they said he has to have shoulder surgery or something in the offseason it's not going to be a surprise really. That shot arc is so different than last season. You know this only makes you look thirsty for Jabari, right?
It’s been a 2 year long injury. He’s just nothing exceptional. Reliable 12-14 point per game player who isn’t that good at threes. Thought he was the steal of the draft and was horribly wrong.
