This is straight up shortsighted. Why would you go kneecapping your source of income? You don't **** where you eat.
Slash and burn doesn’t work, even for Twitter. https://fortune.com/2022/11/06/twit...workers-elon-musk-fired-days-ago-sources-say/ Musk admitted that the cuts were too deep and that some of the employees who were laid off should not have been. Twitter reached out to dozens of employees who lost their jobs and asked them to return. Some of those being asked to return were laid off by mistake, or because management didn't realize their work was needed. I won’t get into how important and how big a hidden cost institutional is since I’ve posted about it here recently and you can look it up. I’m not saying there isn’t bloat in corporate or federal organizations because there certainly is, but you have to be careful. The people you keep are going to have low morale and a much higher workload which will lead to high rates of burnout. Needless to say, if the new administration comes in with a flamethrower, they may burn everything down.

Playing Devil's advocate here. Let's say the Trump administration cuts agency staffing by say, 30%, Where are they going to work next? Will they be on welfare? Will they be able to find other jobs? I think the government should be whittled down by attrition. Retirement, early retirements and so on. We need to trim, but not put them in a bad financial position. Thats all.

However, having worked in and around government for decades I can tell you that a huge part of long-tenured employee's knowledge does not get transferred. That's obviously a problem. They do tend to hang on for a long, long time, so encouraging them to head out and transfer knowledge can be tricky. If you piss them off, they will indeed retire, but leave a massive hole that is very expensive to fill.
What is the real meaning of apartheid? The term “apartheid”, an Afrikaans word, derived from the French term “mettre à part”, literally translated to “separating, setting apart.” Apartheid is a policy that is founded on the idea of separating people based on racial or ethnic criteria. Replace Racial and Ethnic with the words RICH and CLASS and we will have basically the same thing Now don't take that to believe that Race and Ethnicity won't have a significant impact What is a simple definition of fascism? Fascism is a far-right form of government in which most of the country's power is held by one ruler or a small group, under a single party. Fascist governments are usually totalitarian and authoritarian one-party states. American journalist H. R. Knickerbocker wrote in 1941: "Mussolini's Fascist state is the least terroristic of the three totalitarian states. The terror is so mild in comparison with the Soviet or Nazi varieties, that it almost fails to qualify as terroristic at all." As example he described an Italian journalist friend who refused to become a fascist. He was fired from his newspaper and put under 24-hour surveillance, but otherwise not harassed; his employment contract was settled for a lump sum and he was allowed to work for the foreign press. Knickerbocker contrasted his treatment with the inevitable torture and execution under Stalin or Hitler, and stated "you have a fair idea of the comparative mildness of the Italian kind of totalitarianism".[70] Rocket River

@Os Trigonum @Space Ghost @basso Man these anti-capitalist are mad breh I know y’all got Tesla stock cause you guys aren’t communists
it was said in jest because I suspect the Artemis program will get a complete overhaul in the coming year or two. And its not so much because of the new administration but because of the massive cost overruns and extensive delays. If Starship Flight 6 goes as well as flight 5, it will not bode well for the other partners. Nobody wants SpaceX to do everything, but unfortunately the show must go on.
For most of Biden's term, government employment growth has been among the top 3 in the employment numbers If this is a typical corporate reorg, the more senior positions will be axed in half to stop benefits from growing. Maybe the poorest performers will get cut as well? Maybe the oldies fully retire afterwards and the poor performers learn how to hustle in a different env. There's still state and local positions. Then again, sequestration under Obama didn't end the world like what the media and congressmen were claiming. It'll definitely hurt the poor and marginalized, but if they fell through the cracks long ago that maybe it's time for those structural failures to surface? Many libs are well off enough to not deeply care and rely on the government to Handle It. It probably be 1-2 years to kick gov workers out. If economy tanks for other reasons... then 2 more years to bring some of them back.
The richest person in the world in charge of something for a government designed for people with a medium household income of like $70,000 is ****ing stupid. He cant even begin to fathom what life is like for normal people. His company isn't making some ungodly amount of NI for long periods of time, he's making money off dumb-asses with his dick in their mouth like @tinman - inflating the stock price for no good reason. Those ugly plastic cars don't even ****ing work after 3 years. People like him are making money completely worthless for everyone else. But you think cutting a few govt programs is going to make toilet paper cheaper? Lulz. Yeah, he's rich, 1st order - kill jobs. Yall need to get off your knees and wipe off your mouths.
@Salvy @basso @Os Trigonum I know like half the d&d don’t know this song Cause they’re woke and they hate music
