That seems to be the biggest thing he has zero arc anymore.... It is like an old man's piss......straight and down.....with no more power behind the stream to create an arc. DD
Too many of those rhythm boys......If you have Jalen and Jabari having epic confidence issues at the same time.....that lineup looks that bad.
I never said he was a bad shooter, just not a good one. 42% from 3 and the floor. 42% in college are long 2s. The mere fact his 3pt % and fg% were basically the the same says no diversity in his offense. I've also made the point 3pt % only says range, not shooting. Nobody would call Bruce Bowen a good shooter. So with Jabari, what are his ways to score when given the opportunity?
Know where you are coming from, the College thing you can scratch because it does not matter in the NBA.... This is like me talking about High School when I was doing a job......nobody really cares other than former class mates. What I will say about the 36%, it shows he can shoot but it does not show he can do it consistently.
I wonder if Jabari is reading through this thread destroying his confidence even further? Stop it. I love Eason coming off the bench. We're 8-4 basically without Jabari. Many of the shots he's missing are wide open. It's a confidence thing. Law of averages says he'll catch fire sooner or later. He's not going shoot 25% from 3.
He looked as bad as the box score. Ime has given him every chance in the world to turn it around but tonight seemed like the last chance. He didn't play around with leaving Jabari in and got the Terror Twins back on the court. I don't think he played for the last 18 minutes of the game.
I’ll say it again and NOBODY better flame me this time….Smith will never average 15 points or more in his career. Reason why….because he is a backup player at best.
A reduced role off the bench might actually help him to find some confidence. Less expectations and often against lesser players.
IMO, Jabari's biggest issue right now is he doesn't seem to know what he is good at. Right now he isn't a good 3 pt shooter but he never tries anything else. Doesn't drive. Can't dribble. Can't pass. Doesn't attempt long 2s. Doesn't post up. His most efficient offense seems like offensive putbacks, but he doesn't really hang around the dunker's spot either. So what is his strength on offense? There's got to be something he can lean into while he fixes whatever is wrong with his 3 pt shot.
You will likely get flamed if he does average above that. These are the types of takes that are designed to be flamed, it is a high risk low reward take. 15ppg is a very low bar for someone who averaged 13.7ppg at 20 years old, the Rockets have a lot of young guys to develop, Bari may be the odd man out. A trade to another team at 21 years old and a whole career in front of him, why do people even make claims like this lol. Bari is a high character guy and a hard worker with the physical tools and pedigree, the reason he has held his starting job this long is due to this. That means hes going to get a lot of chances to get to that 15ppg, even if he fails miserably with the next 2-3 teams he is on, this is a league built on opportunities and if someone like Christian Wood can average 21ppg and have 8 different teams take a chance on him, then Jabari is going to get so many more chances at just 21 and being a top prospect. You are pretty much saying a guy who seems to be at rock bottom, can not make 1 more 3 a game when hes currently shooting 25%. It is just a very odd take to be so definitive and confident in. Other than being a coachable player and a decent enough defender, another variable which leads to opportunity is being available. He has played / started pretty much every game since being drafted. Someone will give him a shot if he does not figure it out here, especially the way modern players get injured so often.
Well, he had one season where he almost averaged 14 ppg so your 15 ppg is not far away. Why didn't you say 20 ppg ....lol....that could have been an own goal.
I don't get it...his shot doesn't LOOK bad, but as everyone has pointed out, his arc and confidence are gone. Luckily, Jabari is contributing in many other ways--and we're doing well as a team with him on the floor. I just wish he could spread the floor like he did for much of last season. Defenses can just pack the paint and bother Alpi and Jalen because nobody is a threat to shoot except maybe DB right now (and Fred..?) the whole reason Jabari was projected to be a top-3 or even top-2 pick was because of his high floor. A massive 3&D guy who plays the game with passion and intelligence. I need that Jabari. Our team needs that Jabari. I still believe in him
