Is that so? Because I seem to recall him dumping the legendary Josh Christopher as well as TyTy Washington and Usman Garuba.
Jabari had the worst last season as well. The Rockets performing better without Jabari isn't just based on 20:14 minutes (I'd guess it is about 500 minutes not in the starting lineup last season as well). The Rockets minutes with Jabari when not with the starting unit have been dreadful the past season and 20:14 minutes. I really hope Jabari improves. I think he can and Brooks can be on the team.
+- is really a pretty worthless stat. Jabari is playing horribly right now. That is not my argument. My argument is that we need Jabari to be better in order for the Rockets to be better. Brooks is a short timer on this team as is FVV. We need to spend more time on the guys that will be here when we are more legitimate contenders. Jabari is a better defender and better rebounder. He was a better 3 pt shooter last year. Brooks is outplaying him this year, but for how long? Jabari needs to prove himself as part of the core, but we already know that Brooks is not ever going to be part of our core when it matters. Jabari is 21 and needs to continue his development. Brooks needs to go compete with a more veteran team that can use him as a good role player off the bench.
Cam is better than Jalen Green. The only difference is cam was not given the same opportunities that Jalen got his first two years in the nba. Cam is also better than Sheppard. Sheppard has a more well rounded game but Cam is the better player. Cam should be part of the core.
Cam has the potential to be better than Jalen and Sheppard, but right now he is not. I do think he probably should be given more of a shot than Sheppard this year, but we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. He is really young and maybe Ime is trying to wake him up just like he has tried to wake up Jalen. I don’t know if it will work for either one of them, but we really don’t have much in the way of alternatives. Jalen needs to work out for us to be good this year.
Not hard to guess. He simply shoots the ball whenever he gets it. I am surprised it took this long for İme to issue a warning.
EPM is a better stat and probably the best publicly available stat. It slants heavily to Brooks (about 2 points per 100 possessions) though Jabari is predicted to be the better rebounder by far. 20 mpg is fine for development. Jabari being the better defender is laughable. He's not bad, but there is a reason Brooks guarded Wemby and KAT. Sure, Amen and Tari are better than Brooks. On when Jabari is better than Brooks, I don't know. When that happens, play Jabari. If that happens this season, the Rockets are going to want the wins banked early this season as the Rockets will be even better than the team they are now that has won 25 out of their last 41 despite being heavily injured in a lot of those games.
I think Brooks is the better defender for certain archetypes. Guys that he can get under and push off their position and guys he can intimidate. I watch defense closely and I see guys give up on trying to get by Jabari more often. His length can be really frustrating for certain guys. Jabari’s main issue in my mind is confidence. He just doesn’t have any right now. Young players often need to hit a few early shots or make a great play to get going. I just think we often forget how young he is. He may also not have great BBIQ like some of our other young guys. Young players often develop at different paces and hit their stride at different ages. It’s hard to be patient, but we are only in our 4th re-build year and 2 were wasted on Silas. I’d love for us make the play-in or better this year, but just think it’s more important to stay the development course this year. We don’t need to pick up FVV’s option and Dillon is almost certainly trade bait this off-season at worst. So unless it is for discipline purposes, I really don’t see much reason to start Dillon over any of Amen, Tari, or Jabari.
Whaa lol A big tall FVV is something to complain about? I mean the only knock on FVV is that he’s too small to finish in the paint… Cade can finish, he can shoot, and he can pass. If anything, Cade would unleash the beasts too…
The point is looking at +/- across 11 games. The major difference between our best and worst is 20 minutes. We all know Jabari is struggling. Hopefully his shot comes around soon. Definitely most disappointing Rocket this season. He's got to be one of the guys we consider dealing at the deadline.
howbout 15 points, 10 rebounds, +15 BPM off the bench in the same game wonder how they rank on that regardless of age
